The 1960 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XVII Olympiad and commonly known as Rome 1960, were an international multi-sport event held from 25 August to 11 September 1960 in Rome, Italy. Rome had previously been awarded the administration of the 1908 Summer Olympics, but following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 1906, the city had no choice but to decline and pass the honour to London. The Soviet Union won the most gold and overall medals at the 1960 Games.
The 2011 Summer Universiade, the XXVI Summer Universiade also Shenzhen 2011, was hosted in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China.
Olena Dmytrivna Kostevych is a Ukrainian pistol shooter. She is the 2004 Olympic champion in the 10 metre air pistol event, 2002 World champion in 10 m air pistol event and 2018 World champion in 25 m pistol event. She is also multiple European Championships champion and medalist as well as Universiade champion.
Zorana Arunović is a Serbian sport shooter. She won 10 metre air pistol event at the 2010 World Shooting Championships and was later named Serbian Sportswoman of The Year by the Olympic Committee of Serbia. She also won individual gold medals in 10 m air pistol event at 2017 European Championships, and 2015 and 2019 European Games.
Rahi Jeevan Sarnobat is a female athlete from India who competes in the 25 metre pistol shooting event. She won her first gold medal at the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India. She is the first woman to win a gold medal in shooting at the Asian Games for India – she won the gold at the 2018 Jakarta Palembang Asian Games in the women's 25 metre pistol event. She won two gold medals in 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, the first of the two golds in coming in the 25 metre pistol pair event with Anisa Sayyed. She had previously won gold in the 25 metre pistol event at the 2008 Youth Commonwealth Games, which were held in India.
Tennis was contested at the 2011 Summer Universiade from August 14 to August 21 at the Longgang Tennis Center and the Shenzhen Tennis Center in Shenzhen, China. Men's and women's singles, men's and women's team, and men's, women's, and mixed doubles events were contested.
Badminton will be contested at the 2011 Summer Universiade from August 16 to August 22 at the Gymnasium of Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology in Shenzhen, China. Men's and women's singles, men's, women's, and mixed doubles, and mixed team events will be contested. The training venue was held at the Badminton Hall of Longgang Sports Center.
Table tennis was contested at the 2011 Summer Universiade from August 13 to August 20 at the Shenzhen Bay Sport Center Gym in Shenzhen, China. Men's and women's singles, men's, women's, and mixed doubles, and men's and women's team events were contested.
Swimming at the 2011 Summer Universiade was contested from August 13 to August 19 in Shenzhen, China. The competition featured 40 long course (50m) pool events and 2 open water events, held at the Universiade Center Aquatic Center and the Seven Star Bay, respectively. This edition marked the first time an open water event was held at an Universiade.
Fencing was contested at the 2011 Summer Universiade from August 13 to August 18 at the No. 9 Hall in the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center in Shenzhen, China. Men's and women's individual and team events were held in the épée, sabre, and foil categories.
Diving was a sport at the 2011 Summer Universiade from August 16 to August 22 at the Shenzhen Swimming and Diving Gym in Shenzhen, China. Men's and women's 1 and 3 metre springboard, 10 metre platform, synchronized 3 and 10 metre platform, and team events will be held.
Chess was contested at the 2011 Summer Universiade from August 15 to August 21 at the Meihua Hall of the Shenzhen Conference and Exhibition Center in Shenzhen, China. Men's and women's individual and mixed team competitions were held. It was the first time that chess was included in a Universiade.
Georgina Geikie is a British sport shooter who competed for Great Britain in the 2012 Summer Olympics. She has won two bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games.
Shooting at the 2015 Pacific Games was held from 6–11 July at the June Valley Shooting Range in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Tahiti and Fiji were the most successful nations, winning three gold medals each. Medals were initially awarded for teams in the pistol shooting section, but as team events for pistols were not included in the official schedule those medals were withdrawn.

She represented Iran at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the Women's 10 metre air pistol event, where she placed tenth, and in the 10 metre air pistol mixed team event, where her team placed fifth. She was also one of Iran's two flag bearers. She also won Iran's first quota for the 2024 Summer Olympics.

They competed in archery, athletics, basketball, beach volleyball, chess, cycling, diving, fencing, football, gymnastics, judo, shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, and weightlifting. Ukraine was not represented in badminton, golf, sailing, and water polo.
