Showbiz Tycoon is a 2000 Hong Kong semi-biographical television drama loosely based on the life of Hong Kong entertainment mogul Run Run Shaw,founder of film company Shaw Brothers Studio and television company TVB. [1] The drama stars Michael Tao as Shaw,Carina Lau as Shaw's wife Mona Fong,Wayne Lai and Alex Fong respectively as Leonard Ho and Raymond Chow,Shaw's former business partners and founders of Golden Harvest,Shaw Brothers' rival company.

Sir Run Run Shaw,also known as Shao Yifu and Siu Yat-fu,was a Hong Kong entertainment mogul and philanthropist. He was one of the most influential figures in the Asian entertainment industry. He founded the Shaw Brothers Studio,one of the largest film production companies in Hong Kong,and TVB,the dominant television company in Hong Kong.

The Company operates five free-to-air terrestrial television channels in Hong Kong,with TVB Jade as its main Cantonese language service,and TVB Pearl as its main English service. Fong Sai-yuk is a semi-fictional Chinese martial artist and folk hero from Zhaoqing City,Guangdong Province of the Qing dynasty. Fong was also associated with Hung Hei-gun and the Five Elders of the Southern Shaolin Monastery. The Greed of Man is a Hong Kong television series first broadcast on TVB Jade in 1992. The story,spanning three decades from the 1970s to the 1990s in Hong Kong and Taiwan,addresses various social and financial phenomena of the times,from triad violence to corruption in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. It featured a top roster cast,including veteran TVB actors Adam Cheng and Damian Lau and award-winning actor Sean Lau. The series is also well remembered for a Hong Kong stock market cultural phenomenon called the "Ting Hai effect". In 2022,the drama was selected as one of ten classic TVB dramas being honoured for a new Youku and TVB programme.
Angie Cheong Wai-yee is a Hong Kong-based Malaysian Chinese actress. She won the Miss Chinese Malaysia in 1992 and went to Hong Kong to compete for the Miss Chinese International in 1993. After that,she signed a contract with the Hong Kong television TVB and became an actress. In 2003,she was beaten by her boyfriend and was seriously injured. Cheong recently returned to Malaysia to film an episode of Super Trio Series.
