Siddipet Railway Station (station code SIPT) is a railway station in Siddipet District Headquarters. It serves the city of Siddipet in Telangana State, India. It comes under Hyderabad division of South Central Railway, opened in the year of 2023.

The station is part of the Kothapalli–Manoharabad line.

The Manoharabad - Siddipet portion of the line was inaugurated on 3 October, 2023 with a regular (6 days a week) Secunderabad-Siddipet DEMU train service. [1] [2]

History

The Kothapalli-Manoharabad line is under construction. On June 29, 2022, the line received its first shipment of goods at Gajwel station. [3] As of 2023, the line is completed up until Siddipet, with remaining distance to Kothapalli to be completed by 2025. [4]

The Manoharabad - Siddipet portion of the line was inaugurated on 3 October, 2023 with a regular Secunderabad-Siddipet DEMU train service. [5] [6]

Vemulawada is an ancient historical and a famous pilgrimage census town in Rajanna Sircilla district of the Indian state of Telangana. It is the headquarters of Vemulawada Mandal and Revenue Division. The place is notable for Sri Raja Rajeswara Swamy temple,which is also known as “ Dakshinakashi” constructed between 760 and 973 CE, and a site of pilgrimage for Hindu worshipers. The Hyderabad Multi-Modal Transport System, commonly abbreviated as MMTS, is a suburban rail system in Hyderabad, India. A joint venture of the Government of Telangana and the South Central Railway, it is operated by the latter. The 90-kilometre (56 mi) system operates to cater the city of Hyderabad and the neighbouring suburban areas connecting Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Falaknuma, Lingampally, Medchal and Umdanagar with a total of 133 MMTS services. Currently 86 MMTS services are being operated due to the effect of COVID-19.

Secunderabad Junction is a major intercity junction railway station and a commuter rail hub in the Hyderabad urban area. In the city centre, the station is in the South Central Railway zone of Indian Railways. Built in 1874 by the Nizam of Hyderabad during the British era, it was the main station of Nizam's Guaranteed State Railway until the Kacheguda railway station opened in 1916.
