Hyderabad railway station, popularly known as Hyderabad Deccan railway station or Nampally railway station, (station code: HYB [1] ) is located at Nampally, a locality in Hyderabad constructed and earlier run by the Nizam's Guaranteed State Railway of the Hyderabad State.
Hyderabad Deccan railway station is a terminus, meaning the tracks go only in one direction. The station has 6 platforms. Platform No. 4 is the main platform that is directly located at the main entrance of the station, and is the first platform that one reaches after entering the station. Platform No. 4 is meant for trains departing from Hyderabad Deccan, such as Telangana Express, Charminar Express, Chennai Express, Godavari Express (PF. No. 5). Platform numbers 1, 2 and 3 are smaller platforms, and they are located on the "side" entrance of the station. These platforms are exclusively used for operating Hyderabad Multi Modal Transport System trains and the Warangal/ Kazipet Push-Pull Service, and other slow low priority trains. Platform number 5 is used for departure of trains and Platform No. 6 is exclusively used for the arrival and receival of incoming trains.
It falls under the Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway. The station serves the city of Hyderabad by rail to and from many important towns and cities in the country.

The Hyderabad Multi-Modal Transport System, commonly abbreviated as MMTS, is a suburban rail system in Hyderabad, India. A joint venture of the Government of Telangana and the South Central Railway, it is operated by the latter. The 90-kilometre (56 mi) system operates to cater the city of Hyderabad and the neighbouring suburban areas connecting Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Falaknuma, Lingampally, Medchal and Umdanagar with a total of 133 MMTS services. Currently 86 MMTS services are being operated due to the effect of COVID-19.
The 12759 / 12760 Charminar Express is a very popular train operating between the metropolitan cities, Chennai and Hyderabad. From November 2020, it was extended to Tambaram instead of Chennai Central having additional stoppage at Chennai Egmore, without touching Chennai Central. Nizam's Guaranteed State Railway (NGSR) was a railway company operating in India from 1879 to 1950. It was owned by the Nizams of Hyderabad State, and its full name was His Exalted Highness, The Nizam's Guaranteed State Railway. The company began with a line built privately by the HEH, the Nizam, which was owned and operated by the company under a guarantee from the Hyderabad State, much to the dismay of the British authorities.
