Signs of a Struggle is the debut album by English recording duo Mattafix, released on 31 October 2005 throughout Europe. The duo stated that the album is a reflection of the experiences and hardships they have gone through.
AllMusic writer Alexey Eremenko gave the album four-and-a-half stars out of five, praising the originality and variety of styles by saying: "The debut album by Mattafix is a pleasantly tantalizing experience of guessing the sound and never being quite there -- because Mattafix has taken the old elements and made them into something new, or at least untried before." However, Dorian Lynskey of The Guardian gave the album two stars out of five, criticising the lyrical themes which blamed different people, saying: "The bellyflop performed by Ms Dynamite's second album suggests that the British public have scant tolerance for the sound of fingers being wagged in their faces. This is bad news for London-based duo Mattafix, whose debut consists of little else." [2]

Scissor Sisters is the debut studio album by American glam rock band Scissor Sisters, first released on February 2, 2004. It was released by Polydor Records in the United Kingdom and Universal Motown Records in the United States.
Black Cherry is the second studio album by English electronic music duo Goldfrapp, released on 23 April 2003 by Mute Records. Donaghy appeared in a remixed version of the hit stage show Rent for its 2007–2008 run, playing the role of Mimi alongside Denise van Outen.
Big Calm is the second studio album by English electronic music group Morcheeba. It was released in March 1998 by Indochina Records and Sire Records. The album reached the top 20 of the UK Albums Chart, while the single "Part of the Process" charted in the top 40 of the UK Singles Chart in August of the same year. "The Music That We Hear", included on special-edition versions of the album, is a reworking of "Moog Island" from Morcheeba's debut album, Who Can You Trust? Mattafix were an English electronic duo, consisting of vocalist Marlon Roudette and producer and keyboardist Preetesh Hirji. Their sound was a fusion of hip hop, R&B, reggae, dancehall, blues, jazz, soul and world. Known for their 2005 hit single "Big City Life", they won the Sopot International Song Festival in 2006.
Marlon Roudette is a British singer, songwriter and producer. He is the former front man for the duo Mattafix, who had their first number 1, "Big City Life", in 2006. After the group split, Roudette embarked on a solo career with two number one singles in Europe, "New Age" and "When the Beat Drops Out"; the latter made it to number 7 on the UK Singles Chart and is certified platinum. In recent years, he is also known for his co-writing work for artists, including Sinéad Harnett and his half-sister, Mabel. He co-wrote Mabel's hit singles "Finders Keepers" and "Fine Line", as well as the Not3s single "My Lover" and Jax Jones' hit "Ring Ring". He has also co-written tracks featuring Wiley, Tory Lanez, Kranium, Bad Gyal and Busy Signal.
"Big City Life" is a song by English electronic music duo Mattafix. With a chorus is sung in Jamaican Patois, "Big City Life" was released in August 2005 as the second single from Mattafix's debut album, Signs of a Struggle (2005). The single topped the charts in Austria, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, and Switzerland, and it peaked at number 15 in the duo's native United Kingdom. The beginning of the song sounds similar to a part of Madonna's song "Mother and Father", taken from her 2003 release American Life. The Zulu part of the song is a sample of South African song "Umagubane" by Chicco Twala. which is "Indoda Yami nantsi la ilele khona/Indoda yami ubaba wabantwana bam/ Mina nezingane zami sohlala simkhumbula.
Rhythm & Hymns is Mattafix's second and final album, released in November 2007. The album includes the charity single "Living Darfur", as well as "Shake Your Limbs", "Things Have Changed" and "Angel".
Walking on a Dream is the debut studio album by Australian electronic music duo Empire of the Sun, released on 3 October 2008 by Capitol Records. The album was produced by band members Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore, along with Peter Mayes and Donnie Sloan. It was recorded and mixed by Peter Mayes at Soundworks Music Studio in Sydney at various times throughout 2007, with additional recording by Chris Vallejo at Linear Recording, also in Sydney.
Cheese is the debut album by Belgian musician Stromae, released on 14 June 2010. "New Age" is a song by British recording artist Marlon Roudette, released as the first single internationally from his debut studio album, Matter Fixed. The song was released as a single, initially in Germany, on 20 July 2011. After high airplay on VIVA Germany, the single charted at number one on its first week of release in German singles chart and remained at number one for 8 consecutive weeks. It also topped the charts in two other German-speaking European countries - Austria and Switzerland - and reached high positions in Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland and Slovakia. However, in Roudette's motherland, the UK, it was a market failure, reaching only number 90 in the UK Singles Chart.
