Simone Kermes (born 17 May 1965, in Leipzig) [1] is a German coloratura soprano, especially known for her virtuoso voice, suited to the opera seria genre of the Baroque and early Classical period.
Kermes has performed at many important theatres and concert halls internationally, including the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, the Staatsoper Stuttgart, the Bonn Opera, the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. She has appeared at festivals such as Schwetzingen Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Rheingau Musik Festival, Festa de musica Lisbona, Ruhrtriennale arts festival, Triennale di Colonia, Dresden MDR, Prague Autumn, Bachfest Leipzig, Bachfest Bonn, and Resonanzen Vienna. She has also performed with notable orchestras, including Gewandhaus Orchestra, Symphonic Orchestra of Prague, Venice Baroque Orchestra, Classical Orchestra of Madrid, Staatskapelle Dresden, Orchestra of the Comunale of Bologna, Orchestra regionale Toscana, Complesso Barocco, and Orchestra of the Fiandre.
On the opera stage she has portrayed numerous Handel heroines, including Adelaide in Lotario , Asteria in Tamerlano , Merab in Saul , and the title roles in Alcina , Deidamia , and Rodelinda . She appeared in Mozart operas, as Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail , Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni . Her roles have included Laodice in Scarlatti's Mitridate Eupatore , Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss, and the title role in Peri's Euridice . In 2000 she performed the role of Cinzia in the first modern revival of Giovanni Legrenzi's La divisione del mondo at the Schwetzingen Festival. [2] In 2014 she sang the role of La Folie in Rameau's Platée at the Theater an der Wien [3] and at the Lincoln Center in New York. [4]
Udo Zimmermann was a German composer, musicologist, opera director, and conductor. He worked as a professor of composition, founded a centre for contemporary music in Dresden, and was director of the Leipzig Opera and the Deutsche Oper Berlin. He directed a contemporary music series for the Bayerischer Rundfunk and a European centre of the arts in Hellerau. His operas, especially Weiße Rose, on a topic he set to music twice, have been performed internationally, and recorded.

La divisione del mondo is an opera in 3 acts by composer Giovanni Legrenzi. The opera uses an Italian-language libretto by Giulio Cesare Corradi and was commissioned by the Marquis Guido Rangoni. The opera tells the story of the division of the world after the Titan deities were defeated by the Olympian gods. The goddess Venus provides the central conflict of the opera through a series of moral temptations which lead all of the other gods, with the exception of Saturn, into debauchery.

He began his career as a baritone, but moved on to heldentenor and has performed roles in all tenor parts of Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen at Der Ring in Minden. He has appeared at major international opera houses and concert halls, and made recordings. Mohr is a professor of voice at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen. He also runs an agricultural estate where he founded a music festival.

Christian Kluttig is a German conductor, pianist and Hochschullehrer. From 1979 to 1990, he was chief conductor of the Orchester des Opernhauses Halle. Appointed General Music Director in 1983, he worked as such at the theatres in Halle (Saale) and Theater Koblenz. The Handel interpreter rendered special services to the implementation of Historically informed performance in the Saale city, which made him one of the most important protagonists in this field in the GDR. He also devoted himself to Neue Musik, premiering Reiner Bredemeyer's opera Candide.
