Solomon Walker (born December 6, 1971), [1] is an American bass guitarist. From 2007 to 2014 and again in 2021, he played with Morrissey and appears on his albums Years of Refusal and World Peace Is None of Your Business . [2] Since 2018, he has been a member of the Bryan Adams band.

Biography

Walker is a native of Wilmette, Illinois. [3] He is the brother of Matt Walker, a drummer. He began playing electric and upright bass at age 12. [4]

Career

Early in his career, Walker was a member of the groups Year of the Rabbit, The Joy Circuit, and Cupcakes (1996-2000). [3]

From 2007 to 2014, Walker was a member of Morrisey's band. [5] In 2012, he performed with Morrissey on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon . [6] In 2013, Walker starred in the Morrissey documentary about their tour in Morrissey: 25 Live , which received mixed reviews. [7] On November 6, 2014, Morrisey announced that Walker was granted a leave of absence from the band, for "compassionate reasons". [8]

In 2011, he toured with Liz Phair. [9]

In 2018, Walker joined the Bryan Adams band. [10] In 2022, he appeared in the music video for the song "Kick Ass". [11]

In 2023, he helped on production of a single by Evidence of a Struggle. [12]

Personal life

Walker relocated to West Hollywood, California, in 2001. He is married with children.

Triple Fast Action was an indie rock/alternative rock band started by Wes Kidd and Brian St. Clair, both previous members of Chicago band Rights of the Accused, in 1995. Kidd went on to manage such bands as Cheap Trick, The Damnwells and bandmate Kevin Tihista while working for New York–based Silent Partner Management. St. Clair joined the band Local H after stints as tour manager for Chicago's Liz Phair and served as drum tech for Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick. Triple Fast Action member Kevin Tihista released several of his own solo albums after the band's breakup.

Dovetail Joint was a rock band that formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1992. The band featured guitar/vocalist Charles Gladfelter, guitarist Robert Byrne, bassist Jon Kooker, and drummer Joe Dapier. After several years of playing locally, as well as independently releasing their self-titled album in 1995, the band started to garner interest after their song "Level on the Inside" was featured on an annual compilation disc of local radio station WKQX Q101. Weston is a punk rock band hailing from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1990, they took their name from singer Dave Weston's family, since his parents allowed them to practice in their basement. The band never found mainstream success but their energetic and irreverent live shows earned them legendary status amongst their peers as well as their fans. Following their major label debut, the band split up. It was announced on October 17, 2006, that Weston would be reuniting for three shows in late December. This led to even more reunion shows in following years and a live album released December 2009.

Guitarist Greg Suran would go on to tour with the Goo Goo Dolls and the B-52's.

Greg Suran is the lead guitarist in the B-52s, a role he performed from 2013–present. He replaced Keith Strickland on the road after Strickland announced in December 2012 that he would no longer be touring with the B-52s but would continue as a member of the band.
