"Something Good" is a song by English indie rock quartet alt-J from their debut studio album An Awesome Wave (2012). The song was released on 28 September 2012 as the album's fourth single. The song was written by Joe Newman, Gus Unger-Hamilton, Gwilym Sainsbury, Thom Green and produced by Charlie Andrew.

Contents

The song was featured in the 2013 version of BBC Two's "Tent Explorer" ident. It was also featured in the 2015 video game Life Is Strange . [1]

Music video

A music video to accompany the release of "Something Good" was first released on YouTube on 18 September 2012 at a total length of three minutes and forty-two seconds. [2] The video was shot in Los Angeles, CA by Brewer, a directing duo by brothers Alex and Ben Brewer [3] and has earned them the 2013 Young Director Award for Non-European Music Video. [4]

An Awesome Wave won the 2012 British Barclaycard Mercury Prize, and in 2013 was named Album of the Year at the Ivor Novello Awards. The title is a reference to a quote from the 2000 American-Canadian film American Psycho.

The Dream is the fourth album by English indie rock band alt-J, released on 11 February 2022 by Infectious Music and the Canvasback Music division of Atlantic Records. It was promoted with the single "U&Me", which was released alongside the album's announcement on 22 September 2021. The track listing for the album was also revealed on this date through publication Stereogum. "Get Better" was released as the album's second single on 3 November 2021 and was accompanied by a pixel-art music video. "Hard Drive Gold" was released as the album's third single on 5 January 2022. "The Actor" was released as the fourth single on 7 February 2022. The album received a 4 star rating from The Guardian, saying it was a "stroll around the curiosity shop." In the same review the bands embracement of American sounds was noted.
