Songs from the Heart is a compilation album released by Australian recording artist Rick Price in 1996. [1] The album contains b-sides, album tracks and live versions of previously released singles.

A compilation album comprises tracks, which may be previously released or unreleased, usually from several separate recordings by either one or several performers. If by one artist, then generally the tracks were not originally intended for release together as a single work, but may be collected together as a greatest hits album or box set. If from several performers, there may be a theme, topic, time period, or genre which links the tracks, or they may have been intended for release as a single work—such as a tribute album. When the tracks are by the same recording artist, the album may be referred to as a retrospective album or an anthology.

Rick Allan Price is an Australian singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. His debut album, Heaven Knows, was released in July 1992, which peaked at No. 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart. It provided two top ten singles, "Not a Day Goes By" and the title track (July). At the APRA Music Awards of 1992 "Heaven Knows" won Song of the Year for Price and his co-writer, Heather Field. His second album, contained the single "River of Love" (April), which peaked at No. 18. Since 2009 he has been a resident of Nashville, Tennessee. He was worked with numerous artists, as a vocalist, producer and songwriter, including Tina Arena, Tommy Emmanuel, Mitch Grainger, 1990s dance group Girlfriend, Jack Jones and numerous others.

I really believe we all want to find our home, find that place in us where we feel at home, and to me, home is in the heart and that is really, when we are in touch with our heart and we're living our life from our heart, then we do feel like we found our home."
