Sophie Marie Reine Kamoun (born 8 June 1967) is a French former swimmer who competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics.
Kamoun, the daughter of French Olympic swimmer Marc Kamoun, was born on 8 June 1967. She joined the swimming club CS Clichy 92 and saw success in 1983 where she won the French 50 m freestyle and a French relay title. She later competed at the 1983 Mediterranean Games in Casablanca and won the 100 m freestyle and the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay.
Kamoun represented France at the 1984 Summer Olympics. She qualified for the B Final in the 100 m freestyle and finished 13th overall. [1] She also was on France's 4 × 100 m freestyle relay team and finished 8th.
Kamoun enrolled at the University of California, Santa Barbara and was a student-athlete on the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos women's swim team. She competed with the Gauchos from 1987 to 1989 and was named a two-time All-American as part of the Gauchos 200 and 800 freestyle relay teams. [2]
In 1993, Kamoun retired from individual swims and was credited with 26 French swimming titles throughout her career. [3] The following year, Francis Luyce, the president of the French Swimming Federation, brought Kamoun on to handle communications. [4] She later became a communications director at Nike, Inc. in France. [3]
Kamoun was awarded the Knight rank of the Ordre national du Mérite in October 2013. [5] She has stayed involved with swimming, leading a press agency and working with Charlotte Bonnet, Fantine Lesaffre, Mehdy Metella, and Maxime Grousset. [6] [7] She has worked to teach children how to swim. [8]
Kamoun met Stephen Roche, the 1987 Tour de France winner, at the 2001 Tour de France and they later began a relationship. [9] The couple moved to Paris in summer of 2002 and live with Kamoun's son from a previous relationship. [9]
Laure Manaudou is a retired French Olympic, world and European champion swimmer. She has held the world record in freestyle events between 200 and 1500 meter. She is the older sister of Florent Manaudou who is also an Olympic gold medalist swimmer.
Jason Edward Lezak is an American former competitive swimmer and swimming executive. As a swimmer, Lezak specialized in the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle races. His pro career lasted for nearly fifteen years, spanning four Olympic games and eight Olympic medals.

The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos are the intercollegiate athletic teams representing the University of California, Santa Barbara. Referred to in athletic competition as UC Santa Barbara or UCSB, the Gauchos participate in 19 NCAA Division I intercollegiate sports with the majority competing in the Big West Conference. UCSB currently fields varsity teams in 10 men's and 9 women's sports.
Ranomi Kromowidjojo is a retired Dutch swimmer of mixed Dutch-Javanese Surinamese origin who mainly specialises in sprint freestyle events. She is a triple Olympic champion, winning the gold medal in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay at the 2008 Olympics, and in the 50 m freestyle and 100 m freestyle at the 2012 Olympics. Kromowidjojo holds the world record in the 50 meter freestyle short course, and as part of the Dutch team she holds the world record in the 4×50 m freestyle relay. She formerly held world records in the 4 × 100 m and 4 × 200 m freestyle relays. She has won a total of 39 medals in FINA World Championship events.

Florent Manaudou is a French competitive swimmer, an Olympic champion of the 50-meter freestyle at the 2012 London Olympics, and the younger brother of Laure Manaudou, a 2004 Olympic gold medalist in swimming. He competes for the Energy Standard Swim Club in the International Swimming League.

At the 2020 Summer Olympics she won a silver medal in the 4x100-meter medley relay and a bronze medal in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay, swimming in the final of both events. She is the American record holder in the 50-yard freestyle and is part of the American Record in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay.

Béryl Émilie Paulette Gastaldello is a French swimmer and French national record holder in the 50-meter backstroke who competed for Texas A&M University, and participated in the 2016 and 2020 Olympics in freestyle and stroke events. Excelling in international competition, she was a five-time gold medal winner in individual and relay freestyle events at the European Championships.

Maxime Grousset is a French swimmer from New Caledonia. He is a world record holder in the short course 4×50 metre mixed freestyle relay. He won the silver medal in the 100 metre freestyle and the bronze medal in the 50 metre freestyle at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships as well as the silver medal in the 100 metre freestyle at the 2022 World Short Course Championships. At the 2022 European Aquatics Championships, he won the silver medal in the 50 metre butterfly.

He is the world record holder in the long course 400 metres individual medley and short course 200 metres individual medley; the Olympic record holder in the 200 metres butterfly, the 200 metres breaststroke, the 200 metres individual medley and the 400 metres individual medley; and the French record holder in the long course 200 metre individual medley, 200 metre butterfly and 200 metre breaststroke.
