Welcome is the fifth studio album by Santana, released in 1973. It followed the jazz-fusion formula that the preceding Caravanserai had inaugurated, but with an expanded and different lineup this time. Gregg Rolie had left the band along with Neal Schon to form Journey, and they were replaced by Tom Coster, Richard Kermode and Leon Thomas, along with guest John McLaughlin, who had collaborated with Carlos Santana on Love Devotion Surrender. Welcome also featured John Coltrane's widow, Alice, as a pianist on the album's opening track, "Going Home" and Flora Purim on vocals. This album was far more experimental than the first four albums, and Welcome did not produce any hit singles.
Universal Consciousness is the fifth solo album by Alice Coltrane. It was recorded from April to June, 1971, in New York City and at the Coltrane home studios in Dix Hills, New York, and was released later that year by Impulse! Records. On the album, Coltrane appears on harp and organ, and is joined by bassist Jimmy Garrison, drummers Jack DeJohnette, Rashied Ali, and Clifford Jarvis, and, on three tracks, a quartet of violins playing parts arranged by Ornette Coleman. It was the first in a series of three albums on which Coltrane appeared with an ensemble of strings.
Translinear Light is the final studio album by American jazz pianist Alice Coltrane, released in September, 2004 on Impulse Records. It was produced by her son Ravi Coltrane, who also played saxophone for the album as did her third son Oran. In addition to original compositions, it includes two by her husband John Coltrane and four interpretations of traditional songs.
Yesterdays is a live jazz album by Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock, and Jack DeJohnette recorded in concert on April 30, 2001 at the Metropolitan Festival Hall in Tokyo and also at the sound-check recording of April 24, 2001 at the Orchard Hall in Tokyo that would give way to Always Let Me Go. It was released by ECM Records in 2009.

Bitches Brew Live is a live album by Miles Davis. The album was released in February 2011 and contains material compiled from two concert performances. Most of the songs on the album originally appeared on Bitches Brew. The first three tracks were recorded at the Newport Jazz Festival in July 1969, nine months before the release of Bitches Brew, while the rest of the album was recorded at 1970 Isle of Wight Festival. The three cuts from Newport -- "Miles Runs the Voodoo Down", "Sanctuary", and "It's About That Time/The Theme" —- were previously unreleased at the time and have since been reissued on the "At Newport 1955-1975" volume of the Sony Bootleg series. This recording marks the first known time that "Miles Runs the Voodoo Down" was professionally recorded. The final six cuts appeared on the "Miles Electric" DVD in video form and the audio portion was included in the box set Miles Davis: The Complete Columbia Album Collection. A seventeen-minute segment appeared under the title "Call It Anything" on the "First Great Rock Festivals Of The Seventies: Isle Of Wight/Atlanta Pop Festival" compilation album in 1971.

Fleuve is the second album by the Pierre Favre Ensemble, led by Swiss jazz percussionist Pierre Favre. The album was recorded in October 2005 in Switzerland and released in October 2006 by ECM. Produced by Manfred Eicher, it was Favre's first album for ECM in eleven years and marked the return of the ensemble since their 1984 debut Singing Drums, presenting a new line-up that departed from the previous incarnation's all-percussion sound. The new line-up included seven musicians and new instrumentation, including harp, double clarinet, double bass, tuba, guitar, bass guitar, soprano saxophone, and serpent. The latter instrument is rarely used in jazz.

Made in Chicago is a live album by drummer and composer Jack DeJohnette with fellow Chicagoan musicians pianist Muhal Richard Abrams, bassist Larry Gray and saxophonists Roscoe Mitchell and Henry Threadgill recorded at the 35th Chicago Jazz Festival in 2013 and released on the ECM label. The album documents the reunion of DeJohnette with colleagues from Chicago's Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians.

It brings together the contents of Standards, Vol. 1 (1983), Changes (1984), and Standards, Vol. 2 (1985), all of which were recorded for ECM Records at the Power Station in New York City during January 11–12, 1983. Setting Standards was released by ECM in 2008 to mark the 25th anniversary of the trio.
