The West Indies cricket team toured South Africa during the 1998–99 season and played a five-match Test series and a seven-match One Day International series against the South Africa national cricket team, as well as nine tour matches. This was the first Test series between the two teams in South Africa.
The West Indies cricket team toured South Africa during the 2003–04 season and played a four-match Test series and a five-match One Day International series against the South Africa national cricket team, as well as five tour matches. This tour immediately followed a tour of Zimbabwe.

Australia's victory was historic, with it being the first time the West Indies had lost a Test series and the No. 1 ranking in 15 years. The Australians also played a five match series of limited overs international matches against West Indies and three additional first-class matches.

West Indies were captained by Courtney Walsh and Pakistan by Wasim Akram. In addition, the teams played in an international Limited Overs Internationals (LOI) which was won by South Africa.

England were captained by David Gower; the West Indies by Viv Richards. In addition, the teams played a four-match One Day International (ODI) series which the West Indies won 3—1.
The England national cricket team toured the West Indies from January to April 1990 and played a five-match Test series against the West Indies cricket team which the West Indies won 2–1. In addition, the teams played a five-match Limited Overs International (LOI) series which the West Indies won 3–0. The West Indies were captained by Viv Richards, and England by Graham Gooch; following an injury in the Third Test, Allan Lamb replaced Gooch as captain.

The West Indies cricket team embarked on a tour of India in 1983–84 following their surprise defeat to India in 1983 World Cup. Captained by Clive Lloyd, the West Indies played six Test matches against India as well as five ODI in addition to other first class matches. The series also known as Revenge Series ended with West Indies winning three tests and winning all the five ODIs. The series displayed Indian batsmen struggling to play against the West Indies pace attack. In most of the matches India lost about 4-5 wickets even before reaching 50 runs. The disastrous 3-0 loss was the widest ever margin of defeat on home soil. Despite the poor performance of Indian players, India did manage to create some records in this series. Kapil Dev produced his career best innings spell in this series of 9 wickets in an innings for 83 runs and Gavaskar scored his career best 236 not out in this series. This knock of 236 runs not out took him past Donald Bradman's record of 29 test hundreds and Vinoo Mankad's record score of 231.
The Indian cricket team toured the West Indies for a four-match Test series. Prior to the four Test matches, there were two tour matches. The tour coincided with the 2016 Caribbean Premier League. This was the first bilateral tour between the two sides since the West Indies pulled out of the previous tour in October 2014.

The West Indies women's cricket team toured England in June and July 1979. They played England in three Test matches and three One Day Internationals, with the Test series ending as a 2–0 victory for England and the ODI series finishing as a 1–1 draw, with one match abandoned.
The South Africa women's national cricket team toured the West Indies in January 2013. They played the West Indies in 5 One Day Internationals and 2 Twenty20 Internationals, drawing the ODI series 2–2 and losing the T20I series 2–0. The series preceded both teams' participation in the 2013 World Cup, held in India.
