Space is the second EP by American metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada. The album was released on August 21, 2015 through Rise Records. It is the group's first release without guitarist Chris Rubey. [6] It is also the band's second conceptual release, after the release of their concept EP Zombie EP , in which they embarked on a five-year anniversary tour earlier in 2015. This is the last release by The Devil Wears Prada to feature original drummer Daniel Williams after he departed with the band in July 2016.
Vocalist Mike Hranica described the album as being very "thematic". [7] Brian Leak of Alternative Press referred to the EP's sound as "space core". [1]
"Planet A" is about the astronaut Elizabeth, who experiences a malfunction that sets off the events of the EP. [8] "Asteroid" is credited in the album notes as "An Asteroid Towards Earth". [9]
A music video was released for the track "Planet A", being uploaded to Rise's official YouTube channel on August 20, 2015. [10] The EP was released the next day on August 21 through Rise Records, the group's first release on the label since 2007's Plagues . Hranica stated that the band felt confident in working with the label again. [11]
All tracks are written by The Devil Wears Prada, Kyle Sipress and Jonathon Gering (Excluding "Supernova" which was written by TDWP, Kyle Sipress, Jonathon Gering, and Chris Rubey.).

Shinedown is an American rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed by singer Brent Smith in 2001 after the dissolution of Dreve, his previous band. Smith, still under contract with record label Atlantic Records, recruited the band's original lineup of Jasin Todd as guitarist, Brad Stewart on bass, and Barry Kerch on drums. Silverstein is a Canadian rock band from Burlington, Ontario, formed in 2000. Their band name is a reference to the famous children's author Shel Silverstein, whom the band had admired and read the stories of as children. They have released a total of ten studio albums, four EPs, a compilation album and a live DVD/CD. Their lineup had remained unchanged for eleven years since December 2001, consisting of lead vocalist Shane Told, lead guitarist Neil Boshart, rhythm guitarist Josh Bradford, bassist Billy Hamilton, and drummer Paul Koehler. In September 2012, the band had announced that Neil Boshart had been fired and would be replaced by Paul Marc Rousseau, who also joined Billy Hamilton on backing vocals. Drop Dead, Gorgeous was an American post-hardcore band from Denver, Colorado. It consisted of frontman Danny Stillman, Kyle Browning, Jake Hansen (bass), Dan Gustavson, Jonathan Leary (keys/synth/programming) and Danny Cooper. They released three full-length albums, as well as an EP. Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord is the debut studio album by American band The Devil Wears Prada. It was released on August 22, 2006, through Rise Records. It includes re-recorded versions of all the tracks from their demo, Patterns of a Horizon, and two original tracks, "Texas is South" and "Dogs Can Grow Beards All Over". Much like their previous efforts the album's lyrics were penned by lead vocalist Mike Hranica, whose lyrical direction focused on anti-idolatry concepts. They were signed to Lava Records in March 2017, and a month later they released their debut studio EP, Black Smoke Rising. Their debut single, "Highway Tune", topped the Billboard U.S. Mainstream Rock and Active Rock charts in September 2017 for four weeks in a row. Their second EP, From the Fires, containing the four songs from Black Smoke Rising and four new songs, was released on November 10, 2017, alongside a second single, "Safari Song". From the Fires went on to win the 2019 Grammy Award for Best Rock Album.

The album was produced by the band's keyboardist/ programmer Jonathan Gering. It's the final album with longtime bassist Andy Trick before his departure in September 2020.
