Sportclub Enschede is a football club from Enschede, Netherlands. SC Enschede was established in 1910. The club won the national championship in 1926. In 1965 SC Enschede merged with their rivals Enschedese Boys to form FC Twente (both clubs continued as non-league clubs). Currently Sportclub plays in the Vierde Klasse (9th tier in Dutch football).
Sportclub Enschede was founded on 1 June 1910. Soon the club developed in one of the leading football clubs in the Netherlands, winning the national title in 1926 and winning the Eastern League five times. From 1935 to 1937 the club was managed by Béla Guttmann. [1]
When in 1956 the new Eredivisie was established (as the single highest league in the Netherlands), SC Enschede was one of the top teams with star players as Abe Lenstra and Helmut Rahn. In 1958 they lost after 180 (!) minutes the first and last final of the Eredivisie ever against DOS Utrecht. In 1965 they were forced due to debts to merge with their rivals Enschedese Boys to FC Twente. SC Enschede continued as non-league amateur club. Currently, they play in the Vierde Klasse (the ninth tier of Dutch football).

Football Club Twente is a Dutch professional football club from the city of Enschede, sometimes known internationally as Twente Enschede. The club was formed in 1965 by the merger of 1926 Dutch champions Sportclub Enschede with Enschedese Boys. It was the holder of the 2011 KNVB Cup and Johan Cruyff Shield trophies, and was Eredivisie champion in the 2009–10 season; the club has also finished as Eredivisie runner-up twice, was runner-up in the 1974–75 UEFA Cup, and has won the KNVB Cup three times. Twente's home ground since 1998 is De Grolsch Veste. Since 2019, the team have played in the Eredivisie, the top division of Dutch football.

Sportclub Veendam was a Dutch professional association football club based in Veendam, province of Groningen. Founded on 4 September 1894 as Look-Out, it became P.J. Veendam in 1909, Veendam in 1910, SC Veendam in 1974, BV Veendam in 1997 and again SC Veendam in 2011. The club was a founder member of the regional first tier Eerste Klasse Noord in 1916 and became champions of the division in 1931–32; it qualified for the national championship play-offs but finished in bottom place. Veendam took part in the inaugural season of the third tier Tweede Divisie in 1956–57; after yo-yoing between the third and second tiers, the team won promotion to the first tier Eredivisie for the first time in 1985–86. The side spent two seasons in the Eredivisie—1986–87 and 1988–89—but were relegated both times. Veendam then competed in the second tier Eerste Divisie until they were dissolved due to financial problems in 2013.
Abe Minderts Lenstra was a Dutch footballer and national football icon in the 1950s who played as a forward. He is regarded as one of the greatest players ever to hail from the Netherlands. He was also a Frisian legend, most notably with the club where he made his name as a football player, Heerenveen.
Diekman Stadion was a multi-use stadium in Enschede, Netherlands. It was used mostly for football matches. The stadium was able to hold 13,500 people and opened in 1956. The stadium closed in 1998 when the Arke Stadion opened.
