Kalpana Ranjani, better known mononymously as Kalpana, was an Indian actress who appeared in South Indian films, predominantly in Malayalam and Tamil. Kalpana has acted in over 300 films in various South Indian languages. She won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Thanichalla Njan (2012) at the 60th National Film Awards. Kalpana started her career as a child artist in the late 1970s. Although she came into the industry with the intention of being a lead actress, she turned out to be popular among the audiences for her comic roles.

Dr. P. Balakrishnan was an Indian film screenwriter, lyricist, director and producer in Malayalam movies. He scripted story and dialogue for more than 50 movies. He has also directed and produced around 10 movies. His debut movie is Thalirukal in 1965. Renowned film director Satyan Anthikad started film career working as his assistant. He is also credited with introducing eminent film director I.V. Sasi and music director A. T. Ummer to the Malayalam film industry.
Thacholi Marumakan Chandu is a 1974 Indian Malayalam-language film, directed and produced by P. Bhaskaran. The film stars Prem Nazir, Sukumari, Jayabharathi and Srividya. The film had musical score by V. Dakshinamoorthy.
