Madanolsavam is a 1978 Indian Malayalam-language romantic drama film written and directed by N. Sankaran Nair and starring Kamal Haasan, Jayan and Zarina Wahab. Dialogues and comedy scenes were written by Thoppil Bhasi. The film was partially remade in Telugu-language as Amara Prema by T. Rama Rao with Kamal and Zarina reprising their roles from the original. The film was dubbed into Tamil as Paruva Mazhai and into Hindi as Dil Ka Sathi Dil. The film is an unofficial remake of an English movie named Lovestory (1970).
Madanolsavam was directed by N. Sankaran Nair, [2] produced by R. M. Sundaram under production banner R.M.S. Pictures. [3] The film dialogue written by Thoppil Bhasi. It was the first Malayalam film of Zarina Wahab, she played Kamal's wife. [4] The final length of the film was 4,350.50 metres (14,273.3 ft). [3]

Madanolsavam was released on 26 January 1978. [11] This film was given an "U" (Unrestricted) certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification. [3] At the Kerala State Film Awards 1977–78, O. N. V. Kurup won in the Best Lyricist, and S. Janaki in Best Female Playback Singer. [12]
Madanolsavam was remade in Telugu as Amara Prema by T. Rama Rao with Kamal and Zarina reprising their roles from the original. Actress Savitri acted Telugu version. Only a few scenes in the film Amara Prema were remade and most of the scenes dubbed from the original version of the Madanolsavam. Amara Prema was released on 1 July 1978. [13]
Madanolsavam was dubbed into Tamil as Paruva Mazhai released on 14 April 1978, [14] and into Hindi as Dil Ka Sathi Dil released on 1982.
Chitchor is a 1976 Indian Hindi-language romantic musical film, written and directed by Basu Chatterjee. The film is a Rajshri Productions film produced by Tarachand Barjatya. It is based on a Bengali story, Chittachakor by Subodh Ghosh. K. J. Yesudas and Master Raju won the National Film Awards 1976 for Best Male Playback Singer and Best Child Artist respectively. The film was remade in Telugu as Ammayi Manasu, in Malayalam as Minda Poochakku Kalyanam and in Tamil as Ullam Kavarntha Kalvan. It was also an inspiration for the 1997 Bengali film Sedin Chaitramas and the 2003 film Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon.

She has also won two Nandi Awards for Best Female Comedian and the Vijay Award for Best Comedian for her performance in Kanchana (2011). She is now part of Kamal Haasan's Makkal Needhi Maiam Party.
Roja Ramani is an Indian actress who predominantly worked in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films. She was a child actor and her debut movie was Bhakta Prahlada (1967) for which she received National Film Award for Best Child Artist. She was popular during the 1970s and early 1980s and has acted in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Odia movies. She worked in 400 films as a dubbing artiste. She is an active member of BlueCross and is involved in several social service activities.
Thulabharam is a 1968 Indian Malayalam-language film, directed by A. Vincent. It is based on the Kerala People's Arts Club play of the same name, written by Thoppil Bhasi. Thoppil Bhasi also adapted the play for the screen. The film had an ensemble cast including Prem Nazir, Sharada, Madhu, Sheela, Thikkurisi Sukumaran Nair and Adoor Bhasi. The film won two National Awards. The film was a major blockbuster and following the Malayalam version, the film was made in Tamil (Thulabharam), Telugu and Hindi, with Sharada playing lead roles in all versions.
Chemparathy (transl. Hibiscus) is a 1972 Malayalam-language film directed by P. N. Menon and written by Malayattoor Ramakrishnan. It was produced by S. K. Nair, a famous literary personality and the founder of Malayalanadu weekly. It stars Madhu along with newcomers Roja Ramani, Raghavan and Sudheer in major roles. The film was an adaptation of Malayattoor's short story Lodge. Noted filmmaker Bharathan made his cinematic debut as an art director in the film.
