Thunder Bay is a city in and the seat of Thunder Bay District, Ontario, Canada. It is the most populous municipality in Northwestern Ontario and the second most populous municipality in Northern Ontario; its population is 108,843 according to the 2021 Canadian Census. Located on Lake Superior, the census metropolitan area of Thunder Bay has a population of 123,258 and consists of the city of Thunder Bay, the municipalities of Oliver Paipoonge and Neebing, the townships of Shuniah, Conmee, O'Connor, and Gillies, and the Fort William First Nation.

St. David Catholic Secondary School, established in 1965, is a Roman Catholic high school instructing students from grades 9 to 12. St. David CSS is located in Waterloo, Ontario and is a member of the Waterloo Catholic District School Board. Its building is the oldest secondary school building in the board. Historically it was a junior high school, instructing students from grades 7 to 10. St. David received full funding from the Ontario Ministry of Education in 1985, when the school changed its educational focus to students in grades 9 to OAC. Since the OAC year of secondary school was phased out of Ontario schools in the 2002-2003 school year, St. David CSS now teaches grades 9 through to 12. At present (2011) St. David educates 1045 students. St. David is named after St David, a 6th-century saint.
Hammarskjold High School is a public high school located in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, with an enrollment of roughly 850 students. It is named after Swedish diplomat Dag Hammarskjöld. The principal of Hammarskjold High School is Derek Di Blasio and the vice-principals are Kathleen Andrews and Zelka Black.
Sir Winston Churchill Collegiate & Vocational Institute was a high school in Thunder Bay, Ontario. It was part of the Lakehead District School Board system. The school was opened in 1966 and had between 1,100 and 1,500 students enrolled. While students began attending in the fall of '66 the building wasn't actually ready until just before Christmas of that year. Students enrolled in Sir Winston Churchill attended classes in the morning only at nearby Northwood Technical school while Northwood students attended in the afternoon. The school was commonly referred to by the shorter name of SWC. The school is the only one in the city which at one time had a pool, which was later sold to the city. SWC was known for its amazing academics and sport teams. During their last year of football, the senior boys won city championship.

King Collegiate Institute is a secondary school and a de facto alternative school located in Scarborough, Toronto, Ontario, part of the Toronto District School Board. The school was established in 1922, then became a collegiate in 1930, renamed in 1954 and again in 1989. This school was named after Reginald Harold King, a Canadian educator and classicist.
John Paul II Catholic Secondary School, often referred to as JPII, John Paul, or Jp; is a secondary school in London, Ontario. It is administered by the London District Catholic School Board. It is located at 1300 Oxford Street East, at the northeast corner of Oxford and Highbury Avenue, next to Fanshawe College and Robarts School for the Deaf. It is dedicated to Saint Patrick of Ireland and St. Marguerite Bourgeoys, the founder of the Congregation of Notre Dame. One of Toronto's oldest schools, St. Patrick's used to be an elementary school founded in 1852 until 1983 and turned into a secondary school which opened in 1986 on D'Arcy Street. Since September 1989, St. Patrick had been moved from downtown Toronto into the former Lakeview Secondary School in Toronto's east end. The motto for St. Patrick is "Amor Christi nos impellit" which translates to English as "The Love of Christ Impels Us".

It is part of the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board, and its amenities include a chapel, comprehensive science labs, computer labs, custom-designed music room, electronic media studios, fully equipped library, nutrition studies lab, physical education facilities, student resource areas, technology rooms, and a theatre arts rooms with an auditorium.
Current River is a neighbourhood located north east of Port Arthur in the city of Thunder Bay, Ontario. It has approximately 600 students. It is also currently, as of September 2019, the only school in the Lakehead District School Board that offers the International Baccalaureate program, introduced in September 2018 after the shut down of Sir Winston Churchill Collegiate & Vocational Institute.
Lakeview Secondary School, formerly East End High School is a Toronto District School Board public and vocational high school facility that was formerly operated as a secondary school by the Toronto Board of Education from 1967 until 1989 located in Felstad Drive in Toronto, Ontario, Canada serving the Board's Ward 15. Founded in 1967, the current building was built in 1972. The Lakeview property, as of January 2015, remains currently owned by the TDSB.
Fort William Collegiate Institute (FWCI) was a collegiate institute operated by the Lakehead District School Board in Thunder Bay, Ontario from 1907 to 2005. The school's teams were called the "FWCI Blue Bears". The building was granted Historical Heritage Site status in 1983, and was designated a historic building on May 15, 1983.
