History

A church existed on the site of the present day church during 1190, when the siege of Biddulph Old Hall occurred. The church was later rebuilt to replace an old wooden structure with a saxon church. [4]

However, in 1833, the church was heavily rebuilt with some additions made in 1873. The 15th century church tower, which was damaged by fire was also rebuilt during the rebuild of the church in 1872. [5]

Present day

Today, the church remains an active place of worship and community gathering [6] for both the local residents of Biddulph and tourists. [7] Who are visiting the town and nearby Grange Hall, which now owned by the National Trust. [8]

The church also contains some grade listed structures which include a weeping cross, chest tomb, Ginders Memorial and War Memorial. [9]
