Salado is a town in Bell County, Texas, United States. Salado was first incorporated in 1867 for the sole purpose of building a bridge across Salado Creek. In 2000, the citizens of Salado voted in favor of reincorporation, before which it was a census-designated place. The population was 2,394 at the 2020 census.

It played a major role in the development of the stage line transportation network in California. The hotel was also the first business venture in the Conejo Valley.

The Southern Hotel in Llano, Texas was erected circa 1881 by stonemasons J. K. Finlay and John Goodman in the Second Empire style for owner J.W. Owen. The hotel was built as a stagecoach stop between Mason and Burnet, later serving as a hotel and a boarding house. Originally only a two-story building, a third floor was added when Colonel W.A.H. Miller bought the hotel in 1883. It was later renamed the Colonial Inn and ceased operations in the 1950s.

The Col. Elijah Sterling Clack Robertson Plantation is a Southern plantation with a historic house located in Salado, Texas, USA. The National Register of Historic Places has listed it since April 5, 1983. Robertson built the house in the late 1850s, completing the construction of the main house in 1960. Robertson obtained the mansion's metal roof from Houston and used local limestone to build the kitchen, the stable, and quarters for the people he enslaved. In 1936, the Historic American Buildings Survey listed the plantation, which received a Texas Centennial Marker. In 1967, the plantation became a Texas Historic Landmark.
Coffin's Grove Stagecoach House, also known as the Henry Baker House, was a historic building located west of Manchester, Iowa, United States. Coffin's Grove was named for Clement Coffin who settled in the area in 1840. His son-in-law Henry Baker joined him the following year. The house was built in 1855 to accommodate the increase in travelers passing through the area. It served as a hotel, post office and the second floor was used for community functions like dances. The two-story Colonial style was unusual for a structure this far west. It is typically found in Ohio. The house featured a foundation of limestone quarried on the property and brick that was kilned here. Across the road from where the house was located are the remnants of barns built in 1849. They were the first frame barns in the Delaware County. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
