Steffi van Wyk-Brink (born 23 October 1991) is a Namibian model and beauty pageant titleholder who represented Namibia at the Miss World 2015 pageant. [1]

Early life and education

Van Wyk is from Otjiwarongo and grew up on a farm. [2] [3] She attended Jan Mohr Secondary School in Windhoek. [1] She studied further in South Africa. [4]

Career

Van Wyk was a sports organiser and a part-time fitness instructor at Jan Mohr Secondary School, her former high school. [1] Her contract with the school, however, expired in August 2015. After August 2015, van Wyk devoted time to prepare for her title as Miss Namibia 2015.

In August 2015, van Wyk won the title of Miss Namibia. The pageant was held in Windhoek, Namibia. [1] [5] Van Wyk represented Namibia and competed at Miss World 2015.

Van Wyk is a fitness instructor and body builder. [6] She co-owns Brink Fit, a sports, fitness, and wellness company, with her husband. [6]

Van Wyk was a contestant on 2019's Survivor South Africa: Island of Secrets . [7] Van Wyk competed in Survivor South Africa: Return of the Outcasts .

Personal life

In August 2016, van Wyk married Clint Brink, a South African actor. They live in Johannesburg. [6]

Affirmative Repositioning Namibian political organisation

Affirmative Repositioning (AR) is a leftist political movement in Namibia mainly focused on land reform, youth empowerment and social reform. Founded in 2014 by Job Amupanda, Dimbulukeni Nauyoma and George Kambala, the AR uses social media platforms to mobilise residents to apply for erven from municipalities. Due to thousands of youth submitting their forms on the same day, these activities have the character of mass demonstrations. The movement had, in a first round in November 2014, achieved a wave of individual land applications in Windhoek, Namibia's capital, which had since spread to other Namibian towns. The Affirmative Repositioning movement had threatened to take the land by force had the applications not have been processed and approved by July 2015 in the local municipalities.

The Otjiwarongo Reformed Church is the eighth oldest congregation of the Reformed Churches in South Africa (GKSA) in Namibia. At the end of 2008, it belonged with five other Namibian congregations to the denomination's Klassis Waterberg, while another 13 congregations belonged to the exclusively Namibian Klassis Etosha. However, in 2015, the Otjiwarongo congregation returned to the Klassis Etosha. Confirmed membership went down from 58 in 2014 to 44 in 2015, and baptized membership went down from 18 to 6 in the same year.

The Keetmanshoop Reformed Church is a congregation of the Dutch Reformed Church in South Africa (NGK) in southern Namibia. Chanique Rabe is a Namibian model, fashion designer, and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Supranational 2021. Rabe was previously crowned Miss Teen Continents 2015 and Miss Supranational Namibia 2020, making her the first representative from Namibia to win the Miss Supranational title, the first African country to do so.
