Stylogeocoris elongatus is a species in the family Geocoridae. [1] First described by William Lucas Distant in 1901. [2] It occurs in most states of Australia

A galaxy cluster, or a cluster of galaxies, is a structure that consists of anywhere from hundreds to thousands of galaxies that are bound together by gravity, with typical masses ranging from 1014 to 1015 solar masses. They are the second-largest known gravitationally bound structures in the universe after some superclusters (of which only one, the Shapley Supercluster, is known to be bound). They were believed to be the largest known structures in the universe until the 1980s, when superclusters were discovered. One of the key features of clusters is the intracluster medium (ICM). The ICM consists of heated gas between the galaxies and has a peak temperature between 2–15 keV that is dependent on the total mass of the cluster. Galaxy clusters should not be confused with galactic clusters (also known as open clusters), which are star clusters within galaxies, or with globular clusters, which typically orbit galaxies. Small aggregates of galaxies are referred to as galaxy groups rather than clusters of galaxies. The galaxy groups and clusters can themselves cluster together to form superclusters.

It prefers sandy habitats with nearby rocks at depths of from 10 to 25 metres. It can reach a maximum length of 5 centimetres (2.0 in) TL. This species preys primarily on zoobenthos.

NGC 5609 is a spiral galaxy located 1.3 billion light-years light-years away from Earth, in the constellation Boötes. It has the largest redshift of any galaxy in the New General Catalogue. Prior to 2023, another spiral galaxy, NGC 1262, had been thought to have a higher redshift. NGC 5609 is the most distant visually observed galaxy in the NGC Catalog and was discovered by astronomer Bindon Blood Stoney on March 1, 1851.
NGC 1262 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Eridanus. NGC 1262 is about 686 million light-years from Earth. This galaxy was formerly believed to be the most distant object in the New General Catalogue, however, in 2023 using data from Ann Isaacs from the University of Minnesota, Stephen Odewahn from the McDonald Observatory used new radial velocity calculations which placed NGC 1262 nowhere near the most distant NGC galaxy. NGC 1262 is also a large galaxy with a diameter of about 380,000 light-years making it nearly four times larger than the Milky Way. It was discovered by astronomer Francis Leavenworth on November 12, 1885.

GLASS-z12 is a Lyman-break galaxy discovered by the Grism Lens-Amplified Survey from Space (GLASS) observing program using the James Webb Space Telescope's NIRCam in July 2022. Spectroscopic observations of GLASS-z12 by the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) in August 2022 confirmed that the galaxy has a spectroscopic redshift of 12.117±0.012, making it one of the earliest and most distant galaxies ever discovered, dating back to just 350 million years after the Big Bang, 13.6 billion years ago. ALMA observations detected an emission line associated with doubly ionized oxygen at 258.7 GHz with a significance of 5σ, suggesting that there is very low dust content in GLASS-z12, if not the early universe as well. Also based on oxygen-related measurements, the age of the galaxy is confirmed.
Zu elongatus, or the taper-tail ribbonfish, is a species of ray-finned fish within the family Trachipteridae. The species distribution is poorly known, and while it likely lives in temperate and tropical waters of all oceans, but has only been encountered in the Atlantic Ocean- off the coasts of Namibia and the western Cape of South Africa- and in the Pacific Ocean off New Zealand. It inhabits mesopelagic waters up to 1200 meters below sea level. Other common names for this species include "scalloped dealfish" and spitsstert-lintvis in Afrikaans.
