Sumit Arora is an Indian writer, screenwriter and director who primarily works in Hindi films and television. [1] He has written for various TV shows, including Dill Mill Gayye (season 2) and 24. He has also written dialogues for several films, such as Stree, 83 and Jawan. He won the Star Screen Awards and Zee Cine Awards for Best Dialogue for Stree. [2]

Career

Sumit Arora started his career with television and wrote dialogues for many TV shows like Chhoona Hai Aasmaan, Dill Mill Gayye (season 2). He then ventured into films and web series, writing for Selection Day, The Family Man, Dahaad and Guns & Gulaabs. [3] He has also penned dialogues for films like Stree, Ginny Weds Sunny, 83 and Jawan. [4] [5]

Om Shanti Om is a 2007 Hindi-language romantic fantasy film written and directed by Farah Khan, co-written by Mayur Puri and Mushtaq Shiekh, and produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Shreyas Talpade, Kirron Kher, and Arjun Rampal. Indian actress Deepika Padukone primarily appears in Hindi films. Her first screen appearance was in Himesh Reshammiya's music video "Naam Hai Tera" in 2005. Padukone made her film debut by playing the title role in the Kannada-language film Aishwarya (2006). Her first Hindi film release came the following year with Farah Khan's melodrama Om Shanti Om, in which she played dual roles opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The film tells the story of character Ved Vardhan Sahni in three stages–as a 9-year-old child, a 19-year-old adolescent and a 30-year-old adult in a nonlinear narrative.

Jawan ( transl. Soldier) is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language vigilante action thriller film co-written and directed by Atlee in his Hindi film debut. It is produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role as a father and son alongside Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani and Sanya Malhotra with Deepika Padukone in a special appearance. In the film, the jailer of a woman's prison recruits inmates and commits acts that shed light on corruption in India.
