Survive (often styled S U R V I V E) is an electronic band consisting of Michael Stein, Kyle Dixon, Adam Jones and Mark Donica formed in 2009 in Austin, Texas.
The Austin-based quartet have produced synth-heavy, horror-score-influenced compositions for over a decade, exploring these themes through drum machines and analog synths across various single, EP and LP releases. [1]
Survive contributed to the soundtrack for the indie horror film The Guest . [1]
The band gained wider fame after members Dixon and Stein were hired to compose the musical score Music of Stranger Things for the Netflix supernatural horror hit series Stranger Things . [2]
Both volumes of the soundtrack were nominated individually for the Best Score Soundtrack Category for the 2017 Grammy Awards, though neither won. [3] 2017 saw Dixon and Stein also nominated for an ASCAP award as a result of their soundtrack work. [4] In September 2017 Dixon and Stein won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music for their work on the Stranger Things theme. [5] 2017 has also seen the band curate the music for Sensory, a multi-dimensional immersive restaurant experience' at Sugar Hill Mountain Festival in Melbourne, Australia. [6]

Completed in January 2015, it wasn't until September 2016 that the album was released by the labels Relapse and Survive's own Holodeck. As with other releases by the band, RR7349 follows a slow-tempo style using elements of dark wave, electro, and intelligent dance music. Reviews of the album from critics were very favorable, some of them highlighting that it has a complex narrative unusual for instrumental electronic music albums. The LP peaked at number 108 on the American Billboard 200 album chart.

It: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the soundtrack album to the 2017 American film It. An adaptation of the 1986 novel of the same name by Stephen King, the first of the two-cinematic parts is directed by Andy Muschietti, and featured musical score composed by Benjamin Wallfisch. Wallfisch had influenced several works from film composers, notably John Williams and Alan Silvestri's works, while creating the score for It, and uses orchestral music to reflect the period of 1980s setting. A preview of the song list was released by WaterTower Music on August 25, 2017 and the soundtrack album consisting 38 tracks, were digitally released on September 1. A limited edition double LP was released on October 27, that consisted of a 18 tracks in the original score and remaining 29 tracks, that was released separately. The score received positive response from critics, appreaciting Wallfisch for the orchestral approach for the soundtrack.

The album will also be released on physical formats such as CD and vinyl in two separate volumes, as the sheer length of the eighty-track score far exceeds the capacity of a single compact disc or a two-disc vinyl set. These were released on December 2, 2022.
