Survivor is a reality-competition television franchise produced in many countries around the world. The show features a group of contestants deliberately marooned in an isolated location, where they must provide basic survival necessities for themselves. The contestants compete in challenges for rewards and immunity from elimination. The contestants are progressively eliminated from the game as they are voted out by their fellow contestants until only one remains to be awarded the grand prize and named the "Sole Survivor".
Survivor: Vanuatu — Islands of Fire, also known as Survivor: Vanuatu, is the ninth season of the American CBS competitive reality television series Survivor. The season was filmed from June 28, 2004, through August 5, 2004, and the season premiered on September 16, 2004. Filming took place in Vanuatu, a chain of volcanic islands in the South Pacific. Hosted by Jeff Probst, it consisted of the usual 39 days of gameplay, with 18 competitors for the second time in the series' history.
Survivor: Guatemala — The Maya Empire is the eleventh season of the American CBS competitive reality television series Survivor. Filming took place from June 27, 2005, through August 4, 2005, and the season premiered on September 15, 2005. It was filmed in the Yaxhá-Nakúm-Naranjo National Park near the more popular Tikal National Park in northern Guatemala. Originally, the season was scheduled to be filmed in a location on the Indian Ocean, with scouting taking place in Madagascar, Southern India, and Sri Lanka. However, due to the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, the plans were scrapped.
Survivor: The Philippines is the third season of Israeli competitive reality television show Survivor. It was filmed in February and April 2009 in the Philippines, and aired on Channel 10 from August 29 until December 30 of that year, when Shay Arel was named the winner over Tom Altagar and Leora Goldberg by a vote of 6–3–0, and Tal Englander was named the audience's favorite player by winning a public vote.
Survivor South Africa: Santa Carolina is the third season of the South African reality game show Survivor South Africa. The season was filmed in late 2009 and aired weekly between January and April 2010 on Wednesdays nights on M-Net with the ninety-minute live season finale airing on the 21, April 2010. M-Net also commissioned a 15th episode that had a look at the whole series with retrospective views from all the contestants. Hosted by Nico Panagio, the program featured 18 celebrity castaways competing for 27 days. The grand prize was a R500,000 donation to the winner's chosen charity and an additional R500,000 for the winner.
Survivor: Fans vs. Survivors, also known as Survivor: All-Stars, is the fourth season of the Israeli reality TV show Survivor, which was filmed in the Philippines. The season featured a tribe of returning players competing against a tribe of new players, a format previously seen in Survivor: Micronesia — Fans vs. Favorites. It aired from February 28, 2010, to April 4, 2010, when Natan Bashevkin won. Dan Mano was named as the audience's favorite by winning a public vote.

The series was filmed in the summer of 2011 and premiered on 6 January 2012 on Star Plus. The show was hosted by Sameer Kochhar. The show is produced by Miditech Pvt. Ltd. and is aired on weekend nights. Like many of its counterparts, the show has a set number of contestants stranded on an isolated area for a pre-determined number of days until one remains and is given the title Sole Survivor. Aside from the title, the winner also receives ₹ 10 million.
