Susana Romero Steensma [lower-alpha 1] (born 5 September 1990) is a Spanish former sailor, who specialized in the Laser Radial class. [1] She represented her country Spain at the 2008 Summer Olympics and eventually earned a bronze medal at the 2009 Mediterranean Games in Pescara, Italy. [2] Romero trained under the tutelage of her personal coach Santi López-Vázquez, while sailing competitively for Gran Canaria Royal Nautical Club (Spanish : Real Club Nautico de Gran Canaria). [3]

Romero competed for the Spanish sailing squad, as a 17-year-old, in the inaugural Laser Radial class at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. She topped the national rankings by a 19-point edge ahead of Alicia Cebrián to lock the country's Laser Radial spot for the Games, based on her performance in three selection meets approved by the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation. [4] Romero started comfortably with a stellar top-ten feat on the second mark, but she steadily faded her pace towards the middle of the fleet for the remainder of the series, sitting her in the twenty-first spot with a net grade of 127. Aarón Sarmiento Padilla is a Spanish sailor, who specialized in two-person dinghy class. He represented Spain, along with his partner Onán Barreiros, in two editions of the Olympic Games, and has also been training for the Royal Nautical Club of Gran Canaria throughout most of his sporting career under his personal coach and mentor Jorge Angulo. As of September 2013, Sarmiento is ranked no. 14 in the world for two-person dinghy class by the International Sailing Federation.

Luis Martínez Doreste is a retired Spanish sailor, who specialized in the Laser class. Lo Man Yi is a Singaporean former sailor, who specialized in the Laser Radial class. She captured the gold medal in her signature boat at the 2005 Southeast Asian Games in Manila, Philippines and eventually represented Singapore at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Lo trained throughout her sporting career for the Singapore Sailing Federation, under the tutelage of her personal coach Brett Beyer, a six-time Laser Apprentice Master world champion from Australia.

Elena Oetling Ramírez is a Mexican sailor, who specialized in the Laser Radial class. She finished fifth in her signature class at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima and was eventually named the country's top female sailor in the single-handed dinghy at the rescheduled 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, sitting distantly in the thirty-second spot. While sailing competitively for the Mexican squad, Oetling trained for the Games at the Vallarta Yacht Club under her personal coach Giorgio Elena.
