Sweet 75 was a band formed by Krist Novoselic in 1994 after the break-up of Nirvana. The band released one self-titled album before splitting up in 2000.
Krist Novoselic formed Sweet 75 after Nirvana's 1994 break-up, along with Venezuelan-born street singer Yva Las Vegass, whom he met after his wife hired her to sing at his birthday party. [1] Novoselic originally planned to produce an album for the singer but after writing songs together, they decided to form Sweet 75, the name taken from a poem by Theodore Roethke. [2] With Bobi Lore added on drums, they performed a few live shows in 1995 and signed to Geffen Records. In 1996, a bootleg of a November 17, 1995, live show was released by the record company Sea Monkey called Trucked Up Fuckstop. Lore was replaced by former Ministry drummer Bill Rieflin before the band recorded their self-titled debut album, which included guest performances from Peter Buck of R.E.M., Sky Cries Mary's Anisa Romero, and Herb Alpert. [1] The album was not released until 1997, after a tour with Dinosaur Jr., [3] by which time Rieflin had been replaced by former Shudder to Think drummer Adam Wade. At the time, the record didn't make much impression, either commercially or critically. [1] The album was described as blending "indie-rock with heavy rock, Mexican music, lounge and country". [4] In addition, a single of the song "Lay Me Down" was released in Australia. [3] It contained the album tracks "Lay Me Down" and "La Vida", and a previously unreleased song called "Soap Zone". Wade left in October 1997, and the group disbanded in early 1998. [3] They reformed later that year, with Rieflin back on drums, and recorded demos for a second album, but Novoselic and Rieflin began spending more time on their other project, Sunshine Cake, with Romero, and in mid-1999 the band again split up. [3] Further work on the second album in 2000 was reported, but by August that year the band had split up for good, citing "creative differences". [1] [5]
Nirvana was an American rock band formed in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1987. Founded by lead singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic, the band went through a succession of drummers, most notably Chad Channing, before recruiting Dave Grohl in 1990. Nirvana's success popularized alternative rock, and they were often referenced as the figurehead band of Generation X. Despite a short mainstream career spanning only three years, their music maintains a popular following and continues to influence modern rock culture.

Georg Albert Ruthenberg, better known by his stage name Pat Smear, is an American musician. He is best known for being the lead guitarist and co-founder of Los Angeles–based punk band The Germs and for being a rhythm guitarist for grunge band Nirvana, and Foo Fighters. After Nirvana disbanded following the suicide of its frontman Kurt Cobain, drummer Dave Grohl went on to become the frontman of Foo Fighters with Smear joining on guitar. Smear left Foo Fighters in 1997 before rejoining as a touring guitarist in 2005 and being promoted back to a full-time member in 2010.
Eyes Adrift was a three-piece rock supergroup consisting of Krist Novoselic, Curt Kirkwood, and Bud Gaugh. They released a self-titled album in 2002, which was a mixture of punk, grunge, and country, taking all of their previous backgrounds and putting them together. They toured the United States in mid-2002. They later broke up in 2003, after their debut album flopped. Kirkwood and Gaugh went on to form the supergroup band known as Volcano. The album is currently out of print. Novoselic went on to record songs with Foo Fighters and become a political activist in Seattle, Washington, before forming Giants in the Trees.
Kim Anand Thayil is an American musician best known as the lead guitarist of the Seattle-based rock band Soundgarden, which he co-founded with singer Chris Cornell and bassist Hiro Yamamoto in 1984. Cornell and Thayil remained as the original members of the band until Cornell's death in 2017, and the band's subsequent split in 2018. Thayil was named the 100th greatest guitarist of all time by Rolling Stone in 2010, and the 67th greatest guitarist of all time by SPIN in 2012. Thayil has won two Grammy Awards as a member of Soundgarden.
Flipper is an American punk rock band formed in San Francisco, California in 1979, continuing in often erratic fashion until the mid-1990s, then reuniting in 2005. The band influenced a number of grunge, punk rock and noise rock bands. Their slowed-down, bass-driven and heavily distorted style of punk is considered to have inspired bands such as the Melvins and Nirvana, whose bass player Krist Novoselic played with the band in the 2000s.
The No WTO Combo was a one-shot punk rock band started by Krist Novoselic. The band consisted of Jello Biafra ; guitarist Kim Thayil of Soundgarden; and the rhythm section of Sweet 75, with Gina Mainwal on drums and Novoselic on bass.
With the Lights Out is a box set by the American rock band Nirvana, released on November 23, 2004. It contains three CDs and one DVD of previously rare or unreleased material, including B-sides, demos, and rehearsal and live recordings. The title comes from the lyrics of Nirvana's 1991 single "Smells Like Teen Spirit". The box set was planned for release in 2001, but was delayed by a legal battle with Courtney Love, the widow of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain. As of 2016, With the Lights Out had sold 546,000 copies in the US.

It was to be a double album comprising a CD of live performances on one CD and Nirvana's MTV Unplugged performance on the other. It was canceled as Nirvana members Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl found it overwhelming to compile material so soon after the death of Kurt Cobain earlier that year.
Giants in the Trees was an American rock band formed in Wahkiakum County, Washington, in 2017. The band was formed by former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic, who created the band as a local musical project. Novoselic, Jillian Raye, Erik Friend, and Ray Prestegard were the current band members of Giants in the Trees, until 2020. Often, Jennifer Johnson joins on vocals.
