Syed Ahmed Aga (1910-1984) was an Indian politician and member of parliament who was elected during the fourth and fifth Lok Sabhas of India. He represented Baramulla parliamentary constituency from 1967 to 1970, [3] and was then re-elected in May 1970. [4] He was affiliated with the Indian National Congress political party.
Aga was born in 1910 in Srinagar to Khan Bahadur Aga Syed Hussain Thakur,Home and Judicial Minister during Maharaja Hari Singh's reign. [5] His sister Begum Zafar Ali,an activist and educationist,was the first female matriculate of Kashmir. Aga served in the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service until 1965,and later,he served as a member of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission from 1965 to 1967. Prior to contesting general elections,he administered various offices in Jammu and Kashmir state and served as the director of the Food Department' and a member-secretary for the Food Procurement and Distribution Committee. He was the director of rural development and secretary to the Government of Jammu and Kashmir for the departments of health,education-works (PHE),Co-operatives and Home. Aga was one of the members of the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations at the 25th session in 1970. He died in 1984. [6]

Khwaja Mubarak Shah was a senior Jammu &Kashmir National Conference leader and former Member of The Indian Parliament (MP) from the North Kashmir constituency of Baramulla in the early 1980s and also served as a Deputy Minister in the 1952 Government of Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. He also served as Superintendent of Police from 1947 for a brief spell and was trained under Gen. Thimaih,and had given up the job to join politics after Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah was made as an interim Administrator to govern the State when its Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh was dethroned in 1947. He was jailed along with Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and remained in Jail from August 1953 to February 1963,when his father had died. Mubarak Shah polled an overwhelming 67.57% of votes in the Parliamentary Elections in 1980 as opposed to his closest opponent,Muzaffar Hussain Beg who polled 28.48% of total votes polled. He is the son of Khwaja Sikander Shah of Varmul and the Brother-in-Law of Ghulam Ahmad Ashai. He was succeeded as the MP from Baramulla by Saifuddin Soz,who went on to serve as the Union Minister for Water Resources in the first Manmohan Singh Administration.
Ram Subhag Singh was an Indian politician who was a member of the Indian National Congress. He served as a member of the 3rd and 4th Lok Sabha for Bikramganj and Buxar in the Bihar state of India in 1962 and 1967,respectively. After the split in the Congress party in 1969,he stayed with the Indian National Congress (Organisation). He was first leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha in 1969. He participated in the Indian independence movement. He was a cabinet minister in the Union Government led by the Congress party.
