Denise Lewis British television personality and retired athlete

Denise Lewis,, is a British sports presenter and former track and field athlete, who specialised in the heptathlon. She won the gold medal in the heptathlon at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, was twice Commonwealth Games champion, was the 1998 European Champion and won World Championships silver medals in 1997 and 1999. Majd Eddin Ghazal is a Syrian high jumper. He utilizes the Fosbury Flop style, jumping off his left leg. He was the national flag bearer at the 2012 Summer Olympics and at the 2016 Summer Olympics. In the Men's high jump event, he ranked 28th and did not advance to the final in 2012. He qualified for the finals and finished 7th in 2016.

Ghada Ali is a Libyan sprinter, who specialized in the 400 metres. Ghada Ali represented Libyan Arab Jamahiriya at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where she competed for the women's 400 metres. She ran in the fourth heat against six other athletes, including Great Britain's Christine Ohuruogu, who eventually became an Olympic champion in the final. She finished the race in last place by thirteen seconds behind Ireland's Joanne Cuddihy, with the slowest record time of 1:06.19. Ali, however, failed to advance into the semi-finals, as she placed fiftieth overall, and was ranked farther below three mandatory slots for the next round.

Shaimaa Abdel-Latif-Hashad is an Egyptian sport shooter. She is a two-time Olympian, and a three-time medalist for the air rifle (AR40) at the African Shooting Championships.

Alistair Davis is a retired South African sport shooter. He won a gold medal in the men's double trap at the 2011 African Shooting Championships in Rabat, Morocco, with a total score of 182 targets, earning him a spot on the South African team for the Olympics. Davis is also a member of Centurion Gun Club in Pretoria, and is coached and trained by his father Frank Davis.

At the 1993 Mediterranean Games, the athletics events were held in Narbonne, Languedoc-Roussillon, France from 17–24 June 1993. A total of 36 events were contested, of which 20 by male and 16 by female athletes.
