Suresh Gopi is an Indian actor,playback singer,television presenter and politician who is currently serving as the Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and the Ministry of Tourism since June 2024. He was elected as a Member of Parliament,Lok Sabha in the 2024 general election from Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency,becoming the first BJP MP from Kerala,marking the party’s first-ever victory in a Lok Sabha election in the state. He is also serving as the President of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute from September 2023.

He was the MLA of Thrikkakara Legislative Assembly Constituency from 2011 to 2016. He was the General Secretary of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee for 17 years. Earlier he had won Piravom in 1982,and unsuccessfully contested the Idukki Parliament Constituency as UDF Candidate to the Lok Sabha in 2004. In 2024 Indian general election,he won the election with a margin of 63,754 votes against the LDF candidate C. Raveendranath.

Vellamvelly Muraleedharan is an Indian politician from Kerala who served as Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs of India from 2019 to 2024. He was the eighth State President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kerala. He was also a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. He was sworn in as a Union Minister on 30 May 2019. On 12 June 2019,Muraleedharan was appointed Government Deputy Chief Whip in the Rajya Sabha.

Sreekandan was also elected as Member of Parliament of the 18th Lok Sabha of India from the same constituency. Sreekandan is appointed as the interim president of Thrissur District Congress Committee following the controversies of K Muraleedharan's defeat in Thrissur Loksabha constituency in 2024 Loksabha general election.
The 2024 Indian general election was held in Kerala on 26 April 2024 to elect all 20 members from the state to the 18th Lok Sabha. The result of the election was announced on 4 June 2024.
