T. N. Prathapan is an INC politician from Thrissur who is MP from Thrissur.
He was a MLA of the Kerala Legislative Assembly of Kodungallur from 2011-16 and of Nattika from 2001-2006.&2006-2011.
He was a member of the Loksabha from Thrissur constituency from 2019-2024.
Thrissur,formerly Trichur,also known by its historical name Thrissivaperur,is a city and the headquarters of the Thrissur district in Kerala,India. It is the third largest urban agglomeration in Kerala after Kochi and Kozhikode,and the 21st largest in India. The city is built around a 65-acre (26 ha) hillock called the Thekkinkaadu Maidaanam which seats a large Hindu Shiva Temple. It is located 304 kilometres (189 mi) north-west of the state's capital city,Thiruvananthapuram. Thrissur was once the capital of the Kingdom of Cochin,and was a point of contact for the Assyrians,Greeks,Persians,Arabs,Romans,Portuguese,Dutch and English.
The ThrissurPooram is an annual Hindu temple festival held in Thrissur,Kerala,India. It is held at the Vadakkunnathan (Shiva) Temple in Thrissur every year on the Pooram day—the day when the moon rises with the Pooram star in the Malayalam Calendar month of Medam. It is the largest and most famous of all poorams in India. Thrissur pooram is also one of the largest festivals in Asia with more than 1 million visitors.
Madath Thekkepaattu Vasudevan Nair,popularly known as M.T.,is an Indian author,screenplay writer and film director. He is a prolific and versatile writer in modern Malayalam literature,and is one of the masters of post-Independence Indian literature. At the age of 20,as a chemistry undergraduate,he won the prize for the best short story in Malayalam at World Short Story Competition conducted by The New York Herald Tribune. His first major novel Naalukettu,written at the age of 23,won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 1958. His other novels include Manju (Mist),Kaalam (Time),Asuravithu and Randamoozham. The deep emotional experiences of his early days have gone into the making of MT's novels. Most of his works are oriented towards the basic Malayalam family structure and culture and many of them were path-breaking in the history of Malayalam literature. His three seminal novels on life in the matriarchal family in Kerala are Naalukettu,Asuravithu,and Kaalam. Randamoozham,which retells the story of the Mahabharatha from the point of view of Bhimasena,is widely credited as his masterpiece.
Irinjalakuda is a municipal town in Thrissur district,Kerala,India. It is the headquarters of Irinjalakuda Revenue Division,Thrissur Rural Police and Mukundapuram Taluk. After Thrissur,this town has most number of administrative,law-enforcement,and judicial offices in the district. Moolayil Narayana Menon Vijayan,popularly known as Vijayan Mash was an Indian academic,orator,columnist and writer of Malayalam literature. Known for his leftist ideals and oratorical skills,Vijayan was the president of the Purogamana Kala Sahitya Sangham and served as the editor of Deshabhimani. He published a number of books of which Chithayile Velicham received the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Literary Criticism in 1982.

Paramekkavu Bagavathi Temple is one of the largest Bagavathi temples in Kerala located in Thrissur City. Sakthan Thampuran ordained the temples into two groups,namely "Paramekkavu side" and "Thiruvambady side" for Thrissur Pooram which is the biggest festival in South India and Kerala. These two groups are headed by the principal participants,Paramekkavu Bagavathi Temple at Thrissur Swaraj Round and Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple at Shoranur road. The two temples are hardly 500 metres apart. Thiruvambadi Sri Krishna Temple is one of the two groups participating in Thrissur Pooram. The Paramekkavu temple devaswom have a school known as Paramekkavu Vidya Mandir at MLA road near Kutoor and one KG section near to the temple itself.

This film was loosely based on a spate of liquor poisonings that occurred in Vypeen in Kerala that claimed 77 lives.

Cheril Krishna Menon was an Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist. He was the Chairman and Managing Director of Behzad Corporation,headquartered in Doha,Qatar,which has presence in many other countries. He received the 2006 Pravasi Bharatiya Samman and in 2009 received the fourth highest Indian civilian award,Padma Shri,from Government of India,in 2009,with. He died after prolonged illness at Apollo Hospital,Chennai on 1 October 2019,aged 70.
Buon Natale is the cultural festival organized by the Thrissur Archdiocese and Thrissur Citizenry in association with Christmas celebration. It is held at the premises of Thrissur city in Kerala every year from 2013. Buon Natale procession entered the Guinness World Records in 2014 for having the maximum number of people dressed up as Santa Claus. This event was started to raise charitable funds along with the celebrations.
