Delft is a city and municipality in the province of South Holland, Netherlands. It is located between Rotterdam, to the southeast, and The Hague, to the northwest. Together with them, it is a part of both the Rotterdam–The Hague metropolitan area and the Randstad.

N. John Habraken was a Dutch architect, educator, and theorist. His theoretical contributions are in the field of user participation in mass housing, the integration of users and residents into the design process. The visual result of his theory is the architecture of lively variety. Habraken was the initiator of the international "Participation movement" in architecture. His book Supports: An Alternative to Mass Housing, first published in 1961, is the manifesto and starting point of this movement. The theme resident or user participation has been linked to Structuralism and open building.
Alexander Tzonis is a Greek-born architect, author, and researcher. He has made contributions to architectural theory, history and design cognition, bringing together scientific and humanistic approaches in a synthesis. Since 1975, he has been collaborating in most projects with Liane Lefaivre. In 1985, he founded and directed Design Knowledge Systems (DKS), a multidisciplinary research institute for the study of architectural theory and the development of design thinking tools at TU Delft. Tzonis is known for his work on the classical canon, history of the emergence and development of modern architectural thinking, creative design by analogy, and introducing the idea of critical regionalism.
Mecanoo is an architecture firm based in Delft, Netherlands. Mecanoo was founded in 1984 by Francine Houben, Henk Döll, Roelf Steenhuis, Erick van Egeraat and Chris de Weijer.

Jacob van Rijs Ir. FRIBA is a Dutch architect, urban planner and one of MVRDV’s three founding partners. Besides giving lectures worldwide van Rijs is also professor Entwerfen und Baukonstruktion at Technische Universität Berlin. Moreover, he regularly lectures and takes part in student juriesat universities and institutes worldwide. His teaching experience comprehends TU Munich, TU Delft, University of Wismar, ETSAM University Madrid, Royal Academy of Arts Copenhagen, Tokyo Institute of Technology and Rice University, Houston, amongst others. Within the Royal Institute of Dutch Architects (BNA) he is chairman of the International Programme, creating a better support and stimulation for Dutch architects in their activities across the border worldwide. He also holds a position in the Dutch Trade and Investment Board (DTIB) from where he represents architects an international trade and investment level.
Kas Oosterhuis (1951) is a Dutch architect, professor and co-founder of the innovation studio ONL together with visual artist Ilona Lénárd. He was a professor at Delft University of Technology from 2000 to 2016 and has been a professor at Qatar University since 2017. His office, ONL, has realized a number of innovative, contemporary architecture projects including the Salt Water Pavilion at Neeltje Jans, the Web of North Holland at the 2002 World Expo in Haarlemmermeer, the A2 Cockpit in the Sounder Barrier at Leidsche Rijn, Utrecht and the Liwa Tower in Abu Dhabi.
The Berlage Institute was an independent unaccredited postgraduate school of architecture in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, Netherlands, that operated from 1990 to 2012. Named after the Dutch architect Hendrik Petrus Berlage, the Institute had an international student population and teaching staff.

Cornelis (Kees) Vuik is a Dutch mathematician and professor. In 1982 he received his master's degree in applied mathematics from Delft University of Technology in Netherlands. He worked at Philips Natuurkundig Laboratorium for six months. He completed his Ph.D. at Utrecht University in 1988. His research focused on moving-boundary problems and he was supervised by Prof. dr. E.M.J. Bertin and Prof. dr. A. van der Sluis. Vuik then worked at TU Delft, successively as assistant professor, associate professor, and since 2007 as full professor of Numerical Analysis in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science. Since 2022, he has been department chair of the Delft Institute of Applied Mathematics (DIAM) department.
Arnulf Lüchinger is a Swiss-Dutch architect, author and editor of architectural publications. He recognized Structuralism in architecture as a new trend and launched it internationally. Since 1970 he has lived with his family in The Hague.
Wessel de Jonge is a Dutch architect, architectural historian and Professor Heritage & Design at the Department of Architectural Engineering and Technology of the TU Delft. He is specialized in the restoration and re-use of 20th century buildings.
