The TVRI Tower (or Indonesian : Menara TVRI ) is a 144-meter high television transmitter tower located in Jakarta, Indonesia. Started construction on 1 April 1975 and completed on 24 August 1977, this tower was at one time one of the tallest structures in Jakarta and Indonesia.
Since its establishment on 17 August 1962, TVRI broadcasts in Jakarta and its surroundings have been emitted from an 85-meter high iron antenna located near the current position of the tower, [2] which was funded from Japanese war reparations and built by Nippon Electric Company. [3]
The construction of a transmitter tower had been planned since May 1, 1972 as part of the construction of a television station complex which was carried out to suit the surrounding environment which included the Parliament Complex of the Republic of Indonesia and the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. [1] [2] Construction will start on 1 April 1975 by Joint venture Indonesia-Japan P.T. Waskita, and Kajima.
The tower was completed on 24 August 1977 and started functioning in 1978. The tower was inaugurated on 24 August 1982 along with the new studio building. [4] [5]

TVRI, legally Lembaga Penyiaran Publik (LPP) Televisi Republik Indonesia is an Indonesian national public television network. Established on 24 August 1962, it is the oldest television network in the country. Its national headquarters is in Gelora, Central Jakarta.
Television in Indonesia started in 1962, when the then state-run station TVRI began broadcasting – the third country in Southeast Asia to do so. TVRI held a television monopoly in Indonesia until 1989 when the first commercial station, RCTI began as a local station and was subsequently granted a national license a year later. The Indonesian television is regulated by both Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kemenkominfo) and Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI).

Architecturally the tower is 245 meters tall. The building serves as the headquarters of Indonesian insurance company Sinarmas MSIG. The tower was built using modern and environmentally friendly principles and materials such as Low E Glass, a double glass system that can reduce heat and sound leakage, as the embodiment of a building with energy efficiency. In addition it has Building Automation System (BAS) to control water, electricity, and air conditioning.

Kompas Multimedia Towers is a complex of 3 towers, named Menara Kompas I, II and III, which is situated at Gelora, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Indonesia. The complex has a land area of about 1.2 hectares. Tower I has a height of 92 meters and 18 floors, tower II has height of 138 meters and 27 floors, and tower III has height of 226 meters and 52 floors. Construction of Tower I and II was completed in 2017. Construction of tower III is expected to be completed by 2018.
The Golden Triangle of Jakarta or can also be referred to as Medan Merdeka–Thamrin–Sudirman Axis or Sudirman–Thamrin–Kuningan Axis, is a roughly triangular area in the center of Jakarta, Indonesia, extending from Central Jakarta to South Jakarta. TVRI is the main national public television channel owned by LPP Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI). The channel began broadcasting on 24 August 1962, making it the first television station in Indonesia. The channel was also the only television channel choice in Indonesia until 1989, when Programa Dua TVRI in Jakarta broadcast separately from TVRI and private television stations began broadcasting.
