South Korean singer Taeyeon has released three studio albums, two studio-album reissues, and seven extended plays (EPs). She first became a singer as part of idol girl group Girls' Generation in August 2007, and she has embarked on a solo career since 2015. By September 2019, Taeyeon was the best-selling female solo idol and the fifth-best-selling female idol in terms of album sales. [1] She surpassed one million album sales in January 2022 [2] and had sold over 1.3 million albums by September 2023. [3]

Contents

SM Entertainment released Taeyeon's debut EP, I , in October 2015. It peaked at number two in South Korea and has sold over 173,000 physical copies. Her second EP, Why (2016), reached number one in South Korea and has sold over 126,000 physical copies. Taeyeon sold over 250,000 physical copies of her first studio album, My Voice (2017), and its deluxe-edition reissue. Both versions of My Voice peaked at number one in South Korea.

Taeyeon further released two South Korean top-five EPs, This Christmas: Winter Is Coming (2017) and Something New (2018), and a Japanese top-ten EP, Voice (2019). Her second studio album, Purpose (2019), and its reissue (2020) both peaked at number two in South Korea, and their cumulative sales stood at over 232,000 copies. Taeyeon's 2020 EP, What Do I Call You , peaked at number four in South Korea and sold over 127,000 copies combining CD and vinyl sales. Her third studio album, INVU (2022), peaked at number two in South Korea and has sold over 248,000 physical copies.

The multi-national boy group was formed by SM Entertainment in 2016 and comprises multiple sub-units that occasionally reunite to release new music as NCT and NCT U. In 2018, the group released their first studio album, NCT 2018 Empathy, which peaked at number two on South Korea's Circle Album Chart and received a 2× platinum certification, awarded by the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA). Their next album, NCT 2020 Resonance, was released in two parts, which topped the Circle Album Chart, earning NCT their first number-one in the country. Both parts sold over 1.5 million copies and were certified Million by the KMCA. The album became NCT's first entry on national charts in Canada, Hungary, the Flanders and the United States. South Korean boy band NCT 127 have released five studio albums, four reissues, three live albums, one single album, seven extended plays, and nineteen singles. To date, NCT 127 have earned ten number-one albums and two number-one singles in South Korea.

Chinese boy band and the fourth overall sub-unit of the South Korean boy band NCT, WayV, has released one studio album, one reissue, four extended plays (EP), one single album, and eleven singles with SM Entertainment's Chinese sub-label, Label V. WayV debuted in 2019 with the single album The Vision, with a Chinese version of NCT 127's "Regular" as the lead single. In the same year, the group entered the Billboard World Albums chart for the first time with their first EP, Take Off. Their second EP, Take Over the Moon, was released on October 29, 2019, and debuted in the South Korean Gaon Album Chart and Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. In 2020, WayV's first studio album, Awaken the World, managed to enter the top ten on both Gaon and Billboard World Albums chart as well as became the group's first entry on the Japanese Oricon and Billboard Japan charts. In 2021, WayV managed to top the Gaon Album Chart for the first time with their third EP, Kick Back, which also earned the group their first certification for selling more than 250,000 copies in South Korea. After almost two years of hiatus, WayV released their fourth EP, Phantom, in December 2022 as a sextet.

A sub-unit of the boy band NCT, the group debuted in 2016 with the digital single "Chewing Gum", which was later featured on their first single album The First, released alongside its lead single "My First and Last" in 2017. Later that year, they released their first extended play, We Young, alongside its lead single of the same name. In 2018, they recorded the single "Go" for NCT's first studio album as a complete group, titled NCT 2018 Empathy. INVU is the third studio album by South Korean singer Taeyeon. The album was released by SM Entertainment on February 14, 2022, and contains thirteen tracks, including the 2021 standalone single "Weekend", the pre-release single "Can't Control Myself", and the lead single of the same name, the former duo charted at top 10 and the latter debuted atop the Gaon Digital Chart.

South Korean singer Onew has released two studio albums, three extended plays, fifteen singles and ten soundtrack songs. Onew began his music career in 2008 as a member of the boy band Shinee. He made his debut as a solo artist in 2018 with the release of his extended play Voice, which peaked at number two on the Circle Album Chart. His second extended play, Dice, followed in 2022. It peaked at number three on the Circle Album Chart and has sold over 140,000 copies in South Korea. Later that year, Onew released his first Japanese-language extended play, Who Sings? Vol.1, which formed part of his debut studio album, Life Goes On. It peaked at number two on the Oricon Albums Chart. In 2023, he released his first Korean studio album, Circle, which peaked at number three on the Circle Album Chart.
