The Odd of Love (stylized as TAEYEON CONCERT - 'The ODD Of LOVE') was the fifth concert tour and the first arena tour headlined by South Korean singer Taeyeon, in support of her third studio album INVU (2022). The tour started in June 2023 in Seoul and finished in August 2023 in Singapore, visit eight countries across East Asia and Southeast Asia. It was her first solo concert in three years since The Unseen in 2020, which was cut short after three shows due to COVID-19.

Background

On November 8, 2022, during Taeyeon gave her acceptance speech for Best Female Solo Artist Award at the 2022 Genie Music Awards ceremony, she announced that she would hold a concert soon. [1] SM Entertainment announced on May 5, 2023, that Taeyeon would hold her first solo concert in three years titled "The Odd of Love" at the KSPO Dome in South Korea, making Taeyeon the first South Korean female artist to headline a concert at the arena both as a soloist and as a girl group's member [lower-alpha 1] and the fifth South Korean female soloist to hold a concert at the venue after Patti Kim, BMK, Insooni and IU. [2]

On May 9, 2023, SM announced that Taeyeon would officially start the tour with shows in Hong Kong and Japan. [3] [4] Later in June, SM announced that the tour would continue in other Asian countries, including Taiwan, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore. [5] With her shows in Thailand, Taeyeon became the first South Korean female soloist to headline a concert at the Impact Arena, the largest indoor-arena in the country. [6] She also became the first South Korean female soloist to headline concerts in Taiwan's Taipei Arena, Singapore's Indoor Stadium and the second South Korean female soloist to hold a concert at an arena in Japan, following her label mate BoA. Commercial performance

Ticket sales

The ticketing sale for concert in Seoul was split into two phases, a fan club pre-sale and a general sale. The fan club pre-sale began on May 12, while the general sale began on May 15. Online reservations could be made on Yes24 Ticket. All tickets are priced ₩154,000. [10] On May 24, SM Entertainment announced that there was an explosive response after tickets opened and all seats for both days were sold out even seats with limited-viewing. [11]

The concert in Seoul was attended by more than 18,000 people, [12] including Girls' Generation's Seohyun, Yoona, Sooyoung, Hyoyeon and Tiffany, Doyoung, Seventeen's Seungkwan, Hoshi, Vernon and Dino, Le Sserafim, (G)I-dle, Aespa's Karina and Winter, Shinee's Key, Minho, and Taemin, Baek A-yeon, Sunday, Jewelry's Kim Eun-jung, Juniel, Son Na-eun, Lovelyz's Yein, Ive's Liz, Gaeul, Leeseo and An Yu-jin, Super Junior's Eunhyuk and Donghae, Hanhae, Code Kunst, Kim Jae-joong, Ahn Bo-hyun and Blackswan's Fatou. Super Dome Taiwan recorded over 120,000 people accessing to the ticketing website at the same time and more than 12,000 seats at Taipei Arena were all sold out within 3 minutes. The organizers had to add more seats with limited-viewing and hundreds of people slept overnight from the previous day waiting to buy tickets directly for the seats in this area. [16] [17]

On July 16, SM True Thailand announced that all tickets for both shows in Bangkok were sold out and she has achieved a new record by being the first-ever South Korean female soloist to successfully hold a two-day solo concert at Impact Arena. [18] [19] [20] [21] On July 19, DNM Entertainment Philippines stated that all tickets for VIP until upper box B were sold out and unavailable seats would be opened for sale with obstructed view due to the high ticket demand. [22]

On July 29, CK Star Entertainment Singapore announced that all tickets for concert at Singapore Indoor Stadium were fully sold out. [23] [24] On August 3, CK Star Entertainment announced that the concert tour in Singapore has been added one more show on August 19 due to receiving a high response. [25] [26] [27] On August 7, CK Star reported that all tickets for both days in Singapore were fully sold out and this made her the first-ever South Korean female solo artist to successfully hold a two-day solo concert at Singapore Indoor Stadium. The song's lyrics were penned by Jam Factory's Lee Seu-ran, while its music was composed by Jamil "Digi" Chammas, Taylor Mckall, Tay Jasper, Adrian McKinnon, Leven Kali, Sara Forsberg, and MZMC. There are two physical editions of the album with similar tracklist but separate covers and booklets. Musically, songs on My Voice are based on Taeyeon's vocals and incorporate various genres including pop, pop rock, and PBR&B.     "Make Me Love You" is a song recorded by South Korean singer Kim Tae-yeon. It was released as a single on April 5, 2017, by SM Entertainment. The song's lyrics were penned by Jo Yoon-kyung while its music was composed by Matthew Tishler, Felicia Barton and Aaron Benward. The song is the title track of the Deluxe edition of Taeyeon's first studio album, My Voice, which was released on the same day.

    <i>Purpose</i> (Taeyeon album) 2019 studio album by Taeyeon

    Purpose is the second studio album by South Korean singer Taeyeon. It was released through SM Entertainment on October 28, 2019. It features 12 tracks, including the Gaon number-one single "Four Seasons" and its B-side "Blue" alongside ten new tracks, including the title track "Spark". On January 15, 2020, a repackage edition of Purpose was released including three new songs, including title track "Dear Me". Musically, it is a pop record that contains influences of ballad, R&B, blues and jazz. The album was originally set to be released on October 22, 2019, but was postponed until October 28 due to the passing of Sulli.

    "Happy" is a song recorded by South Korean singer Taeyeon, released as a digital single originally on March 9, 2020 but postponed to May 4, 2020, by SM Entertainment.
