Take It & Shuvit is the debut studio album from the Malaysian rock band Pop Shuvit, released in 2002 by Positive Tone and EMI Music Malaysia. [2] The album contains 11 songs and 4 outtakes and is the first and last album to feature former Poetic Ammo member, Point Blanc. [3] The repackaged version of this album, Take It & Shuvit Again was released in December 20, 2003. [4]

Pop Shuvit Malaysian rap rock band

Pop Shuvit is a Malaysian independent hip hop-rap rock band. Comprising Moots! (MC), JD, AJ, Rudy (drums) and DJ Uno (DJ), the band who got its name from a skateboarding trick of almost the same name began making waves in the local music scene in late 2001 and since then, has had 5 successful releases under their belt and gained a sizeable fanbase in Asia notably in Malaysia, Japan, Thailand and Singapore. Known for their adrenaline-packed live shows and eclectic blend of hip hop and rock, Pop Shuvit are being touted as Asia's leading Hip Hop Rock band.

Positive Tone Sdn Bhd was a Malaysian music production house, established in 1993 by Jeff Siah and Kenny Tay. The first release is Leonard Tan's first album. After Paul Moss and Ahmad Izham Omar joined Positive Tone, Positive Tone become one of Malaysia's top recording companies. In 1998, Positive Tone was acquired by EMI Malaysia, after the 1997 Asian financial crisis. Some of the company's famous act includes Too Phat, Poetic Ammo, VE, Ruffedge, Juliet The Orange, Nicestupidplayground and Innuendo. This record company was closed in 2003, and all of the singers was absorbed into EMI Malaysia. As part of EMI's withdrawal from Southeast Asia market in 2008, EMI Malaysia was closed. The compilation album "Best of Positive Tone" was the last album to be released by EMI Malaysia.

EMI Music Publishing Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is a subsidiary of the defunct EMI Group. This record company produced P. Ramlee, Sharifah Aini, Sudirman Arshad and many more.

Background

The album consisting of 15 tracks, including 11 songs and 4 outtakes. It also includes a cover version of Kriss Kross’ 1992 single "Jump", which released as the band’s first single. Another single, "Skaters’ Anthem" was chosen as the theme song of the Summer X-Games and became one of the most downloaded local songs in Malaysian music history. Take It & Shuvit also became Pop Shuvit’s first and last studio album to feature Point Blanc as the second lead vocalist, before leave the band to focus to his group, Poetic Ammo and later pursue his solo career. The album also marks Pop Shuvit’s first collaboration with international acts. Slapshock, a Filipino rock band, featured in the song "Dog Eat Dog (Pinoy Metal Assault)". The album also was released in Japan in 2003 with different cover.

Kris Kross band

Kris Kross was an American hip hop duo formed in the early 1990s that consisted of Chris "Mac Daddy" Kelly and Chris "Daddy Mac" Smith. The duo was discovered by Jermaine Dupri in 1991 and hit worldwide status the following year with their smash hit debut single, "Jump", which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks and was certified double platinum as a single. They went on to release three studio albums, with their debut album Totally Krossed Out topping the US Billboard 200, and their following albums, Da Bomb and Young, Rich & Dangerous making it into the Top 20. The duo were also noted for their signature fashion style of wearing their clothes backwards. Chris Kelly died of a drug overdose in 2013, leading to the disbandment of the duo.

Poetic Ammo was a Malaysian rap/hip-hop group. It consisted of Yogeswaran Veerasingam, Chandrakumar Balakrishnan, Nicholas Ong, and Sashi Kumar Balakrishnan. Although most of the group's songs were written in English, the group also released tracks in Malay, Tamil, and Cantonese.

Slapshock is a Filipino heavy metal band. They were formed in 1997, originally as a nu metal act, with their early musical style compared to that of Korn. They have since shifted towards a metalcore style.

A-Mei Taiwanese singer

Over the Rhine (band)

Over the Rhine is an American, Ohio-based folk music band, the core of which is the husband-and-wife team of pianist/guitarist/bassist Linford Detweiler and vocalist/guitarist Karin Bergquist. The band began as a quartet with guitarist Ric Hordinski and drummer Brian Kelley. Hordinski left the band in December 1996, and Kelley continued to play into 1997 before departing. The original foursome reunited in December 2008 at The Taft Theatre to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the formation of the band, and again in the summer of 2010 at Ric's studio, "the Monastery", to play the album "Good Dog Bad Dog" live, in its entirety.

It consists of eight tracks, including six remixes and two new recordings. Two new songs - "Here & Now" and "Without a Cause" was later included in their second album, Here & Now (2005).
