Taktakan is a district of Serang Municipality, the capital city of Banten, Indonesia. It's the westernmost district of the city which borders the regency.

The municipal landfill, TPAS Cilowong, is located in the west part of the district. [2]

Banten Province of Indonesia in western Java

Banten is the westernmost province on the island of Java, in Indonesia. Its provincial capital city is Serang. The university has a history of cultivating the intellectual background for Islamic movements and organizations, Nahdlatul Ulama. The university is named after Sunan Gunungjati, who was one of the Wali Sanga, the legendary Sufi figures who contributed greatly to the spread of Islam in Indonesia.

Syamun

Brigadier general Kyai Hajji Syam'un better known as Ki Syam'un was an Islamic scholar and fighter for Indonesian Independence. In 1916, Syam'un founded the Pesantren Al-Khairiyah, which in subsequent development became Al-Khairiyah Islamic College as an educational institution and organization. Syam'un received military education during the Japanese occupation of the Dutch East Indies and was later be appointed Battalion Commander (Daidancho) in the Pembela Tanah Air volunteer army. In 1945, he was appointed regent of Serang until his death in 1949.He was awarded the title National Hero of Indonesia in 2018.

The Djajadiningrat family was a high-ranking priyayi family in colonial Indonesia, whose members often served as Bupati or Regents of Serang in Banten, Dutch East Indies. Noted for their western outlook and loyalty to the Dutch authorities during the colonial period, the family nonetheless fought on both sides of the Indonesian National Revolution (1945–1949).

Drangong is an administrative village or kelurahan in the district of Taktakan, Indonesia. The village has an area of 5.61 km2 and a population of approximately 19 thousands, making it the most populous village in the district.
