Talwandi Aklia (also known as Chhoti Talwandi) is a small village in Mansa district of Punjab, India. [1] [2] In the February 2012 elections, it was among the villages where more than 90 per cent ballots were cast. [3]

The power plant is operated by Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), a subsidiary of Vedanta. The engineering, procurement and construction contract is given to SEPCO1 of People's Republic of China.
