The Tamil Nadu State Planning Commission is an institution in the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin ( is an Indian politician serving as the 8th and current Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The son of the former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, Stalin has been the president of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party since 28 August 2018. He was the 37th Mayor of Chennai from 1996 to 2002 and 1st Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu from 2009 to 2011. Stalin was placed 30th on the list of India's Most powerful Personalities in 2019 by The Indian Express.

The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University (TNMGRMU) is a government medical university situated in Guindy in the southern part of the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is about 7 km (4.3 mi) from the Chennai International Airport and about 13 km (8.1 mi) from the Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Central Railway Station. It is one of the premier medical universities named after the AIADMK founder and the former chief minister of Tamil Nadu M. G. Ramachandran, endearingly known as M.G.R. and it is the second largest health sciences university in India after Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka.
The eighth legislative assembly election for Tamil Nadu was held on 24 December 1984. All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) won the election and its general secretary, incumbent M. G. Ramachandran (M.G.R) was sworn in as Chief Minister, for the third time. The election victory was mainly attributed to the sympathy wave created by Indira Gandhi's assassination and M.G.R's illness coupled with Rajiv Gandhi's popularity. This is the last election M.G.R contested as he died in office in 1987. This is also the only General Election which M. Karunanidhi did not contest since 1957 until his death.
The seventh legislative assembly election to Tamil Nadu was held on 28 May 1980. The election was held two years before the end of the term of M. G. Ramachandran administration, as it was dissolved for the failure of state machinery by the then President of India Neelam Sanjiva Reddy. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam allied with the Indian National Congress (Indira) and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam with Janata Party. Despite their victory at the 1980 Lok Sabha polls, DMK and Indira Congress failed to win the legislative assembly election. AIADMK won the election and its leader and incumbent Chief Minister, M. G. Ramachandran was sworn in as Chief Minister for the second time.
K. A. Mathiazhagan was an Indian politician and Co-Founder of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). He served as the Finance Minister, Minister of Food, Revenue and Commercial Taxes in the Tamil Nadu government and Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.

He was elected to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly from Royapuram constituency as an Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in the 1991, 2001, 2006, 2011 elections and 2016 elections for five terms. During the Tamil Nadu legislative Assembly 2021, he again contested in Royapuram Constituency and lost to the DMK candidate Ira Moorthy. He served in various cabinet positions starting from 1991 - Forests, Fisheries, Information Technology, Elelctricty and Finance. He is one among the senior leaders of AIADMK. In October 2020, he was appointed to 11 member Steering Committee of AIADMK and also serves as its Organizng Secretary. In the TN 2021 Election for Royapuram constituency, he was defeated by Murthy.R of DMK by a margin of 27,779 votes. He had represented Royapuram five times - 1991, 2001, 2006, 2011 and 2016.
The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is a department of the government of Tamil Nadu that is responsible for governing the recruitment of personnel into the state's public service. It is the successor of the Madras Service Commission, which came into being under an Act of the Madras Legislature in 1929 and was the first Provincial Public Service Commission in India.
