Tampereen-Viipurin Ilves-Kissat is a Finnish football club from Tampere. As of 2017 are playing in the Kolmonen league. [1]
They play their home matches in the Tammelan Stadion, which was opened in 1931. [2]
The name of the club was changed to Viipurin Ilves (‘Lynx of Viipuri’) in 1934, and as a result of the Winter War, the club was relocated in Tampere in 1940. However, there already was a club called Ilves in Tampere, so club reverted to the name Ilves-Kissat in December 1944. [3]
IKissat Tampere were promoted to the Mestaruussarja, the top flight of Finnish football, for the 1949 season, and were champions in 1950. They were relegated in 1951. [4]
In 1974 Ilves-Kissat and Tampellan Palloilijat merged with Ilves Tampere, which now became fully involved in football. Ilves-Kissat discontinued its activities in the sport, but on lower tiers of Finnish football it is, in a way, represented by its sister club, Kissalan Pojat (namesake of the Katzenjammer Kids). [3]
In the autumn of 2004, with the club's football team in 6th Division the management of the club decided to make a push for higher tiers, and in the autumn of 2010 the club achieved promotion to Kakkonen, i.e. 3rd tier. For the 2011 season, Ilves-Kissat entered an arrangement whereby they became the farm team for FC Haka of Valkeakoski, but the season ended with relegation to 3rd Division. [5]

Tampere Stadium, also known as Ratina Stadium, designed by architect Timo Penttilä and completed in 1965, is a multi-purpose stadium in Tampere, Finland, with a seating capacity of 16,800 people, and up to 32,000 people for concerts. In 2018, the stadium hosted the IAAF World U20 Championships. The pitch and main stand were originally completed for the 1952 1952 Summer Olympics when Ratina hosted five qualification and preliminary round matches. In 2009, Ratina was one of the stadiums of the UEFA Women's Euro 2009. Ratina has also hosted several matches of the Finland national football team.
Tammelan Stadion is a football stadium in Tampere, Finland. It is the home ground for the Veikkausliiga club Ilves and the Kakkonen sides TPV and Tampere United. The Ilves women's team which plays in the Naisten liiga also uses the stadium. The new Tammelan stadium is available from the 2024 season.

Reipas Lahti is a sports club based in Lahti, Finland. It is involved in various of ball games and also other sports. The club emerged in the late 1940s, when the inhabitants of Viipuri had mostly been relocated in Lahti, after evacuation during World War II. As a consequence, the activities of Viipurin Reipas, which had been founded in 1891, were continued in the new home town of the evacuees. The name of the club was still Reipas Viipuri until 1962, when the ball game section became simply Reipas.

The Suomen Palloliiton Saimaan piiri(SPL Saimaa district) was a district organisation of the Football Association of Finland operating from 1924 to 1994. The U20 SM-sarja is the premier junior men’s ice hockey league in Finland. It was previously known as the A-nuorten SM-sarja during 1945 to 1991 and the Nuorten SM-liiga during 1991 to 2020. The league was founded by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association in 1945 and a Finnish Champion in men’s under-20 ice hockey has been named annually since the league’s inaugural season – with the exception of the 2019–20 season, in which the playoffs were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Eighteen to twenty teams compete in the U20 SM-sarja regular season, which is played in a preliminary ranking stage followed by a divisional or group stage.

Niilo Rudolf Tammisalo was an influential figure in Finnish sports in the first half of the 20th century. He was a versatile athlete who represented Finland as a player with the national teams in football, ice hockey, and bandy; he was also on Finnish Champion teams in each of the three sports with domestic clubs.
