Tarana Halim (born 16 August 1966) [4] is a Bangladeshi politician,former lawyer,television and film actress and playwright. [5] In January 2018,she was appointed as the State Minister of Information. [6] Earlier,she served as the state minister of the Post and Telecommunications Division under the Ministry of Posts,Telecommunications and Information Technology of the Government of Bangladesh since July 2014. She first came into limelight in 1976 by emerging as the champion in Notun Kuri,a popular children reality show of Bangladesh Television. [9] Halim got her break-through in acting by working in the TV plays Sneho and Dhakaye Thaki. [10]
Halim served as the general secretary of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote,a cultural organization. [11]
On March 20,2009,Halim was elected Member of Parliament of one of the 45 reserved women seats. [12]
Halim was married twice. She has two sons from her first marriage. Afterwards she was married to actor [[Ahmed Rubel]. They were also divorced. [13] She has two sons (aged 25 and 34). [13]
Sheikh Hasina Wazed is a Bangladeshi politician who has served as the tenth prime minister of Bangladesh from June 1996 to July 2001 and again since January 2009. She is the daughter of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,the founding father and first president of Bangladesh. The Third Hasina ministry was the cabinet of the People‘s Republic of Bangladesh headed by Sheikh Hasina that was formed after the 2014 general election which was held on 5 January 2014. Notun Kuri is a Bangladeshi reality television competition series for child artistes created by Mustafa Monwar. The show debuted in 1966 which ran on Pakistan Television from 1966 to 1971. After the independence of Bangladesh,the competition was relaunched and ran on Bangladesh Television from 1976 to 2006. The name of the show comes from a poem named "Kishor (Teenager)" by Golam Mostofa.

Her second album Shikawr released in 2014 with several musicians from West Bengal.
