Taurotettix is a genus of leafhoppers in the tribe Cicadulini . The genus is widely distributed across Eurasia with one species (T. beckeri) found in Algeria. [2]
There are currently 4 described species in Taurotettix: [2]
Protomyctophum is a genus of lanternfishes.
The Bahia tyrannulet is a species of bird in the family Tyrannidae. It is endemic to the state of Bahia in eastern Brazil. It is the most second recently described bird in the genus Phylloscartes after the Cinnamon-faced tyrannulet which was described two years later.
Phylloscartes is a genus of small birds in the family Tyrannidae. They are found in wooded habitats of Central and South America. They mainly feed on small arthropods, and most commonly take part in mixed species flocks. The mottled-cheeked tyrannulet is among the commonest birds in its range, but several other species are rare and threatened. Their plumage is predominantly green, yellow, white and grey, and many have contrasting facial patterns and wing-bars. They have thin, pointed bills, and relatively long tails. Most frequently cock their tail, perch relatively horizontally and are very active.
Maiestas is a genus of insects in the family Cicadellidae, the vast majority of which were formerly placed in the genus Recilia.
Melieria beckeri is a species of ulidiid or picture-winged fly in the genus Melieria of the family Ulidiidae.
Deltocephalinae is a subfamily of leafhoppers. Deltocephalinae is the largest subfamily in the family Cicadellidae and is divided into 40 tribes, comprising over 925 genera, and over 6,700 described species.
Sibapipunga beckeri is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae, and the only species in the genus Sibapipunga. It was described by Martins and Galileo in 1992.
Glycocystis beckeri is the only species of the flowering plant genus Glycocystis in the family Scrophulariaceae and is endemic to the south west of Western Australia. It is a shrub, similar to others in the genera Eremophila and Myoporum but is unusual in that it produces very large amounts of sticky, sweet-smelling resin produced by raised glands which cover the entire plant, except for the petals. It has been suggested that the resin traps insects which the plant uses as a source of nitrogen.
Amanita beckeri or Becker's ringless amanita is a species of Amanita from Europe.
Athysanini is a tribe of leafhoppers in the subfamily Deltocephalinae. The type genus of the tribe is Athysanus. The tribe has a cosmopolitan distribution. It is the largest tribe in the subfamily Deltocephalinae and has 228 genera and at least 1120 species.
Acostemmini is a tribe of leafhoppers in the subfamily Deltocephalinae. Acostemmini contains 12 genera and around 30 species. The tribe is found throughout tropical Africa, the Indian subcontinent and New Guinea. The highest diversity is found in Madagascar including an endemic genus, Ikelibeloha.
Arrugada is a genus of leafhoppers in the subfamily Deltocephalinae. There are currently four described species of Arrugada and they are all endemic to Bolivia and Peru. The genus was formerly considered to be within its own separate subfamily within Cicadellidae; however, it is now recognized to be in its own tribe, Arrugadini, within the subfamily Deltocephalinae.
Chiasmini is a tribe of leafhoppers in the subfamily Deltocephalinae. Chiasmini contains 21 genera and over 300 species. Some species of Chiasmini in the genus Nephotettix are agricultural pests and transmit rice tungrovirus in southeast Asia.
Cicadulini is a tribe of leafhoppers in the subfamily Deltocephalinae. There are currently 15 genera and over 120 species in Cicadulini.
Dorycephalus is a genus of leafhoppers in the subfamily Deltocephalinae. It is the only genus in the tribe Dorycephalini. There are currently only two described species in the genus. The members of the genus are found in eastern Europe, Russia and Mongolia.
Hypacostemma is a genus of leafhoppers in the subfamily Deltocephalinae. It is the only genus in the tribe Hypacostemmini. Hypacostemma contains at least 5 described species distributed throughout Southern Africa. Hypacostemma are usually large greenish leafhoppers with a length between 7-10 mm.
Occinirvana eborea is a species of leafhopper in the subfamily Deltocephalinae. It is the only member of the genus Occinirvana and the tribe Occinirvanini, making them both monotypic taxa. O. eborea is endemic to Western Australia. It is closely related to Loralia, another genus of leafhoppers endemic to Australia.
Stegelytrini is a tribe of leafhoppers in the subfamily Deltocephalinae. There are 30 genera and over 80 species in Stegelytrini. Some authors consider Stegelytrini to be its own subfamily, but Zahniser & Dietrich (2013) consider it to be the earliest divergent lineage of Deltocephalinae.
Jassargus is a genus of leafhoppers belonging to the family Cicadellidae. The genus was first described by Zachvatkin in 1934. The species of this genus are found in Europe, Asia, Algeria, Greenland and Canada.
