Tel is a village (municipality at Khachmaz Region) situated in the northern-eastern part of Azerbaijan, near the village of Nabran. [1] The area of the village consists of deep forest and steppes rich with natural springs. It is popular as a tourist region. Near the village is the Tel Bulaghi (spring Tel) tourism center, mainly active in summer. The population is more than 700. The main activities are agriculture, farming and some tourism services.

In addition to being a scenic site, their environs are used for recreation, including swimming. These falls are along a branch of the Little Zab River. The waterfalls are at their most substantial flow during the spring. The weather of the region is cold until the middle of spring.

The World Travel and Tourism Council reported that Azerbaijan is among the top ten countries with the greatest increase in visitor exports from 2010 to 2016. The country had the world's fastest-developing travel and tourism economy in 2017. To promote tourism, Azerbaijan sponsored Atlético Madrid jerseys reading "Azerbaijan – Land of Fire". In 2018, a new tourism brand and a slogan "take another look" were introduced.

Hidayat "Hido" Heydarov is an Azerbaijani judoka in men’s 73 kg. He is a four-time European Judo Champion . In 2024, he won the Gold Medal in the Olympic Games in Paris, the World Championships in Abu Dhabi and the European Championships in Zagreb.
