The Kalaimamani is the highest civilian award in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. These awards are given by the Tamil Nadu Iyal Isai Nataka Mandram, a unit of the Directorate of Art and Culture, Government of Tamil Nadu, to recognise artists in the state for their achievements.

Arai En 305-il Kadavul is a 2008 Tamil-language fantasy comedy film directed by Chimbu Deven, who earlier directed Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikecei, starring Vadivelu. A remake of the 2003 Hollywood film Bruce Almighty, the film stars Prakash Raj, Santhanam alongside Ganja Karuppu, Jyothirmayi, and Madhumitha. An ensemble supporting cast including Sampath Raj, Madhan Bob, Rajesh, M. S. Bhaskar, Periyar Dasan, and Ilavarasu appears in supporting roles.
Malai Malai is a 2009 Indian Tamil-language masala film written and directed by A. Venkatesh. Singam (transl. Lion) is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language action film written and directed by Hari. Produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja under Studio Green in association with Reliance Big Pictures and distributed by Sun Pictures, it stars Suriya in the titular role in his 25th film, alongside Anushka Shetty, Prakash Raj and Vivek in another pivotal roles. It is the first installment in the Singam franchise.

A remake of the successful Telugu film, Dhee. The film was released on 2 August 2012.
Kazhugu (transl. Eagle) is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language comedy thriller film written and directed by newcomer Sathyasiva, starring Krishna and Bindu Madhavi. The film, produced by Krishna's father K. K. Sekhar along with K. S. Madhubala, features music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The story revolves around four persons, referred to as "Kazhugu", who recover the bodies of suicide victims who jump off a cliff. The film, based on real-life incidents, has been shot in real locations, including Kodaikanal, Theni, and Munnar. It had been in making since late 2010 and eventually released on 16 March 2012, to mixed reviews and became a sleeper hit.
Uchithanai Muharnthaal is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language film directed by Pugazhendhi Thangaraj and assisted by Prashanth Ramamurthy. The plot revolves around a 13-year-old Sri Lankan Tamil girl, portrayed by child actress Neenika. The film also stars Sathyaraj, Seeman and Sangeetha, while featuring music scored by D. Imman. The film released on 16 December 2011, delayed from August.
All in All Azhagu Raja is a 2013 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film written and directed by M. Rajesh. The film stars Karthi in dual lead roles with Kajal Aggarwal, Prabhu, Santhanam, Radhika Apte, and Saranya Ponvannan in the supporting roles. The music was composed by S. Thaman with cinematography by Sakthi Saravanan and editing by Vivek Harshan. The film was released on 2 November 2013 coinciding with Diwali to negative reviews from critics.

Kalyana Parisu is a 2014 Indian Tamil-language soap opera that aired on Sun TV. It is 2nd longest running Tamil soap opera with 1840 episodes. The show was produced by Vision Time India Pvt Ltd and directed by Harish Adhitya. It premiered on 10 February 2014 and ended on 27 March 2020 for 1840 episodes.
