The Adams is an Indonesian indie rock band formed in 2002. The band currently consists of Saleh Husein, Ario Hendarwan, and Gigih Suryo Prayogo.
The band was formed by Saleh Husein, Ario Hendarwan, Bawono "Beni" Adhiantoro, and Bimo Dwipoalam during their studies at the Jakarta Institute of Arts in 2002. [1] In 2004, they contributed a track "Mosque of Love" to a compilation album, JKT:SKRG initiated by independent record label Aksara Records. [2] Their appearance on the album caught the attention of film producer Nia Dinata, who invited them to work on the soundtrack of Janji Joni , Joko Anwar's directorial debut film. [3] The band contributed two tracks to the soundtrack, "Konservatif" and "Waiting". [4]
Their self-titled debut album was released on 15 June 2005 under Aksara Records, featuring "Konservatif" and "Waiting". The former was ranked 136th on the list of "The 150 Greatest Indonesian Songs of All Time", compiled by Rolling Stone Indonesia . [5] In 2006, they released their sophomore album titled V2.05, featuring singles "Halo Beni" and "Hanya Kau". The album was ranked 112th by Rolling Stone Indonesia on the list of "The 150 Greatest Indonesian Albums of All Time". [6] The group released an extended play in 2017 titled ß Release, consisting of b-sides and a cover of Naif's "Jikalau", which previously appeared on a 2007 tribute album called Mesin Waktu: Teman-Teman Menyanyikan Lagu Naif. The Adams returned with new material after twelve years with the release of the single "Pelantur" on 2018 Record Store Day. [8] On 15 March 2019, the group independently released their third studio album Agterplaas. [9] In an interview with Pophariini, Saleh Husein revealed that Agterplaas was "The Adams' most difficult album". [10] A 45-minute documentary film about the making of the album titled Masa-Masa: Sebuah Dokumenter Pembuatan Agterplaas, directed by Cakti Prawirabishma, was released alongside the album's box set. In 2024, it was announced that Pandu Fathoni and Ghina Salsabila would depart the band. [12]

White Shoes & the Couples Company is an Indonesian pop band from Jakarta, Indonesia. The band are currently signed to both Indonesian label Aksara Records and American independent label Minty Fresh based in Chicago. Their music is influenced by Indonesian film soundtracks from the 1970s, 1930s jazz, disco, and 1960s pop music.
White Shoes & the Couples Company is the debut album from Indonesian band White Shoes & the Couples Company. It was released in 2005 by Indonesian-based Aksara Records. The album made its re-release in 2007 when American label Minty Fresh signed the band to its label. The majority of the songs are in Indonesian, the band's native tongue. Today, this album is only available on American iTunes Store and Apple Music. The album has not been released on other streaming services worldwide.
Aksara Records was a Jakarta-based independent record label concentrated on indie music, founded in 2004 by Hanindhito Siddharta and David Tarigan. The variety of music carried by artists under the Aksara Records label is centered on music such as genres that are rarely known in Indonesia, such as pop, rock, indie pop, and electronica. Its logo was a cartooned crow holding a beamed notes in its mouth. The label name came from Indonesian word "aksara" which in English means "alphabet".

The band disbanded in 2021 after exactly 25 years.
