Political science is the scientific study of politics. It is a social science dealing with systems of governance and power, and the analysis of political activities, political thought, political behavior, and associated constitutions and laws.
A think tank, or policy institute, is a research institute that performs research and advocacy concerning topics such as social policy, political strategy, economics, military, technology, and culture. Most think tanks are non-governmental organizations, but some are semi-autonomous agencies within government, and some are associated with particular political parties, businesses or the military. Think tanks are often funded by individual donations, with many also accepting government grants.
International Affairs is a 100-year-old peer-reviewed academic journal of international relations. Since its founding in 1922, the journal has been based at Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs. It has an impact factor of 5.957 and a ranking of 6th in the world in International Relations journals, according to the 2021 ISI Journal Citation Reports. It aims to publish a combination of academically rigorous and policy-relevant research. It is published six times per year in print and online by Oxford University Press on behalf of Chatham House. The International Journal of Conflict and Violence (IJCV) is an open access interdisciplinary scientific journal covering conflict and violence research. It has been published twice a year in English since 2007 and encompasses contributions from a wide range of disciplines including sociology, political science, education, social psychology, criminology, ethnology, history, political philosophy, urban studies, economics, and the study of religions.
The Journal of Modern African Studies is a quarterly academic journal of African studies covering developments in modern African politics and society. Its main emphasis is on current issues in African politics, economies, societies, and international relations. The journal is published by Cambridge University Press and as of 2018 its editors-in-chief are Ian Taylor and Ebenezer Obadare. It was edited by Leonardo A. Villalón and Paul Nugent from 2012 to 2017, and by Christopher Clapham from 1997 to 2012. David Kimble served as its founding editor from 1963 to 1997.
Survival is a scholarly international studies journal of the International Institute for Strategic Studies, the British international affairs research institute. It is published by Taylor & Francis and has six issues a year. It was established in 1959 and the editor is Dana Allin.

Publius: The Journal of Federalism is a quarterly social science journal published by Oxford University Press for CSF: Publius, Inc., a non-profit affiliate of the Center for the Study of Federalism. The journal is international in scope and devoted to the history, theory, structures, and practice of federalism and the application of federal principles to political and social issues. It was founded in 1971 by Daniel Elazar, a political scientist at Temple University. Its title is in honor of Alexander Hamilton, John Jay and James Madison, who used the pen-name "Publius" in 1787–1788 when they published the papers that became known as The Federalist. The journal is sponsored by the Federalism and Intergovernmental Relations Section of the American Political Science Association.

The Society for Financial Studies (SFS) is a nonprofit, academic society in the field of finance.
