The Devil's Blood was a Dutch occult rock band from Eindhoven, formed in 2006. [2] [3] Their style is hard rock in the vein of Black Widow, Coven, Black Sabbath, and a plethora of 1970s underground progressive and psychedelic rock. [4] Their sound has been described as "seductive, rather than aggressive" with female vocals, classical guitar leads, analog atmospherics and "vintage satanic hooks". [4] [5]
The group was founded by lead guitarist, lyricist and principal songwriter Selim "SL" Lemouchi. SL's sister, Farida "F. The Mouth of Satan" Lemouchi, was asked to join the group after providing vocals for the song "The Graveyard Shuffle". [6] The group's name is taken from the song "Devil's Blood" by Swedish black metal band Watain. [6]
On 17 April 2008, the band made their live debut at Roadburn Festival. [7]
On 11 September 2009, the group released their first full-length album, The Time of No Time Evermore , through Ván Records.[ citation needed ]
On 11 November 2011, the band released their second full-length album, The Thousandfold Epicentre , also through Ván Records; it was later released in the United States through Metal Blade Records on 17 January 2012. Following the US release of the album, the band embarked on the Decibel Magazine Tour 2012 – headlined by the Polish blackened death metal band Behemoth – which encompassed twenty-six tour stops across North America. [8] During the tour, the band received some publicity after their bus driver allegedly ran off with their money, leaving them stranded at an intersection in San Antonio, Texas. [9] SL stated the group planned to continue to tour throughout the remainder of the year and play in as many locations as possible. [10]
On 25 January 2013, the band's official Facebook announced that the Devil's Blood was no more. However, they announced on 7 February 2013 that they would release their unfinished third album, III: Tabula Rasa or Death and the Seven Pillars , an acoustic EP, 66:2 , a live DVD, and some live recordings.[ citation needed ]
In March 2014, Selim Lemouchi died at the age of 33. [11] It was revealed that the cause of death was suicide. [12]
On 20 June 2017, the Devil's Blood members Farida Lemouchi, Ron van Herpen, Oeds Beydals, Thomas Sciarone, Job van de Zande, Sander van Baalen, and Micha Haring did a one-off reunion to perform "Voodoo Dust" at a memorial service for their former manager and booking agent Danny "Bidi" van Drongelen. SL was heavily influenced by his spiritual beliefs, namely Satanism. [14] In several interviews SL has stated his primary influence in songwriting (and in life) are "the three principalities of Adversity – The Death, The Chaos, and The Satan", stating "That (Satan) is the driving force behind all my creative power". [15] [16] SL has also cited Slash of the American hard-rock band Guns N' Roses as being influential in his work as a guitarist. [17]

Church of Misery is a Japanese doom metal band from Tokyo, formed in 1995. Church of Misery's musical style melds early Black Sabbath-style doom with psychedelic rock; most of the band's songs are about serial killers and mass murderers.
Watain is a Swedish black metal band, formed in 1998. The band's name is taken from an early recording by the American black metal group Von. The band have become famous for their theistic Satanist views and for their live shows which involve pyrotechnics, candles, Satanic rituals, animal carcasses, and blood. At a now-notorious live performance in Brooklyn in 2014, they doused audience members in animal blood, allegedly causing some members of the audience to vomit. This was picked up and publicised by TMZ, generating controversy around the incident. To date they have released seven full-length albums, as well as three live albums and a number of demos and EPs. Their most recent album The Agony & Ecstasy of Watain was released on 29 April 2022 through Nuclear Blast. The band's core lineup has remained stable since their formation, consisting of Erik Danielsson, Pelle Forsberg, and Håkan Jonsson, though as of 2015 Jonsson no longer performs live, Emil Svensson of fellow Uppsala death metal band Degial was recruited as live drummer.

Year of No Light is a French post-metal band formed in Bordeaux in 2001. On their 2006 debut album Nord, the band combined a dark and aggressive sludge metal sound with psychedelic atmospheres inspired by post-rock and shoegazing. After Neurosis guitarist/vocalist Scott Kelly heard their debut album Salt The Wound, he signed the band to Neurot Recordings, the label he owns with fellow Neurosis members. Their sound features elements of Americana, sludge metal, psychedelic rock, space rock and folk.
The Wild Hunt is the fifth studio album by Swedish black metal band Watain. It was released through Century Media on 19 August 2013 in Europe and 20 August 2013 in USA. The cover art was painted "in oil and mixed materials" by Zbigniew M. Bielak, who was also responsible for the artwork of Lawless Darkness. The album sold around 2,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release, and was the best-selling album in their home country of Sweden on the week of its release, making it the band's highest sales and chart debut to date. Stylistically the album represents a development of Watain's established black metal sound, incorporating influences from heavy metal, doom metal, and progressive metal. It is also the first Watain album to feature vocalist Erik Danielsson performing clean vocals.

"He Is" is a song by Swedish rock band Ghost. The fifth track from the group's third studio album Meliora, it was released as a promotional single on May 31, 2015. The song reached number 64 on the Swedish national music chart, their second-highest to date. A live recording was later released in 2017.
Satan's Satyrs are an American band originally formed in 2009 in Virginia by lead vocalist and bassist Clayton Burgess. The band's lineup as of 2016 included Burgess, Jarrett Nettnin, Stephen Fairfield and Nate Towle. Originally influenced by groups such as Electric Wizard and Black Flag, Burgess mailed a demo tape to Electric Wizard and recorded their first album Wild Beyond Belief, which began with Burgess performing all the instruments while still being attending high school. The group began their follow-up album Die Screaming and were invited by Jus Oborn of Electric Wizard to perform at the Roadburn Festival in 2013. Burgess was then offered to join Electric Wizard in 2014 which he accepted. The group has recorded two follow-up albums since along with a split EP with Windhand which charted in Billboard's Top Heatseekers charts.
