The song contains a prominent sample from Stevie Nicks' song "Edge of Seventeen". It was released as the second single from Survivor on May 22, 2001, by Columbia Records.

"Emotion" is a song written by Barry and Robin Gibb. It was first recorded by Australian singer Samantha Sang, whose version reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1978. "Graduation (Friends Forever)" (also titled "Friends Forever (Graduation)") is a song by American pop singer Vitamin C, released as the third single from her self-titled debut studio album (1999). Vitamin C wrote the song as a response to how many friends drift apart soon after graduation from high school. Josh Deutsch co-wrote the song with her and also produced the track alongside Garry Hughes. The song is partly orchestrated, featuring a string arrangement based on Pachelbel's Canon in D and a vocal appearance from the NYC All-City Chorus. One version of the song contains student interviews from the Class of 2000 of Lyndhurst High School in New Jersey.

"Me, Myself and I" is a song by American singer-songwriter Vitamin C, released as a single on October 19, 1999. Written by Gregg Rolie, Michael John Carabello, and Thomas Coke Escovedo, it was the second single released from Vitamin C's 1999 debut album, Vitamin C. The chorus contains a sample from the Santana song "No One to Depend On", from their 1971 Santana III album.
"These Days" is the third single of Australian pop group Bardot, released in August 2000 on the back of their first national tour. It debuted and peaked at No. 19 on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart and was certified gold. It was the 100th-highest-selling single in Australia of 2000. The single was available in two unique formats. CD 1 contains live tracks from their Sydney shows as well as an enhanced component featuring the "These Days" music clip, a screensaver and gallery. CD 2 is a remix disc. Bardot performed "These Days" at the 2000 ARIA Awards where the group was nominated for three awards.

"Into You" originally featured Ashanti, but after Irv Gotti of Murder Inc. Records refused to let her film a music video to promote the single, Fabolous reached out to Tamia to re-record a commercial version. The single was released through Elektra Records and DJ Clue's Desert Storm Records.

The song was produced by Morales, and Cuban-American singer Jon Secada provides backing vocals on the track. A Spanish-language version titled "No apagues la luz" was also recorded.

The track was co-written by Amorosi with Australian Idol judge Mark Holden and Shaun Imrei, and it was produced by Steve Mac. "Analyse" is a song by Irish rock band the Cranberries. It was the first single released from their fifth studio album, Wake Up and Smell the Coffee (2001), on 27 August 2001. The promotional video, directed by Keir McFarlane, had to be edited in consequence of the 9/11 attacks, which was partly responsible for the single's low chart positions in their native Ireland and the United Kingdom, but it became a top-10 hit in Italy, Portugal, and Spain.
