The Medic Droid was an American synthpop band from Phoenix, Arizona.
The Medic Droid was started in 2005 with Chris Donathon, Hector Bagnod and Johnny Chavez (Droid). [1] Bagnod and Donathon first met in 2003, but Donathon moved away from the city after they met, only to return (and begin the band) a few years later. The group gained a strong initial following through the social networking site Myspace; by mid-2008 the song "Fer Sure" had logged almost 2 million plays on the site [2] and the group had accumulated over 100,000 friends there. [3] Soon they were noticed by manager Avery Andon [4] who brought the band to New York where they played their first live show opening for Enter Shikari at The Bowery Ballroom [5] and caught the eye of A&R's from Epic Records who would later go on to sign the band. The group eventually made two new songs "Keeping Up with the Joneses" and "FSCENE8", enlisting the help of Australian DJ S3RL to remix these songs. In late 2007, Johnny Droid left the band due to issues with the other members and created his own solo band called J0hnny. [6] In 2011, he announced he was making a band with S3RL called R0bots. [7]
They later hired Greg Rudawski as drummer for live shows and were signed to Modern Art Records, a local Phoenix indie label distributed by Epic Records. They wrote and recorded their debut album Whats Your Medium and it was released June 10, 2008. Whats Your Medium reached no. 33 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. [8]
The band was heavily inspired by 1980s popular culture, their name referencing a character from the Star Wars sequel The Empire Strikes Back , [9] and recording a version of the Madonna anthem "Into the Groove". [10]
The Medic Droid went on a "Spring Tour" with A Cursive Memory in Spring 2008 across the U.S.. A Cursive Memory was the only band to go to every show with them. They co-headlined for every date. Breathe Carolina, The White Tie Affair, and The Morning Of joined the tour for select dates, but did not go for the whole tour. Kill Hannah's Hope for the Hopeless U.S. Tour 2008 was presented by Hot Topic. Kill Hannah was the headliner and had the tour for their recently released album of b-sides and rarities. The Medic Droid, Innerpartysystem, and The White Tie Affair joined them as special guests for the whole tour. The tour began in July, 2008 and ended August, 2008.
The Blackout's headlining tour, "Sleep All Day, Party All Night", toured in Japan, Europe, and the UK. The Medic Droid was on the road for the UK dates in October. From First to Last and We Are the Ocean also toured with them.
The Medic Droid headlined their final tour with supporting acts Hyper Crush and Chronic Future in November and December 2008. [11] It wasn't planned as their final tour, but the group's members showed strain from constant touring, [9] and on December 16, 2008, both Bagnod and Donathon posted notice on their MySpace pages that the band had dissolved. [12]
On February 8, 2012, Chris Donathon created a Facebook page for the band. Then the next day, on February 9, he posted, "Hey every one thanks for all the likes. I'm currently working on putting together my new live set as well as some new tracks. I'm super excited to get back out on the road again and playing some shows but i need all your guys and girls help to spread the word." [13] On February 19, 2012, AbsolutePunk posted a blog stating that the band had reunited. [14]
On July 25, 2012 Donathon announced he would be selling limited edition T-shirts to help fund a new EP. [15] On November 10, 2012 the band announced that they would be returning to the stage at the "South by So What?!" festival on March 16, 2013. [16]
On December 22, 2015, The Medic Droid added a new picture to their Facebook along with, "THE MEDIC DROID 2016." The following day they announced their first show back opening for Austin Jones on the Phoenix, Arizona date of his "We'll Fall Together Tour" on January 21, 2016 at Joe's Grotto. On May 19, 2016, The Medic Droid released their first song in 8 years titled "Closer". [17] A second song, "Disco Queen", was released on June 1, 2016. [18]
As of January 2017, The Medic Droid are considered to be on hiatus or disbanded.

Enter Shikari are a British rock band formed in St Albans in 1999 by bassist Chris Batten, lead vocalist and keyboardist Rou Reynolds, and drummer Rob Rolfe. In 2003, guitarist Rory Clewlow joined the band to complete its current line-up, and it adopted its current name. In 2006, they performed to a growing fanbase at Download Festival as well as a sold-out concert at the London Astoria. Their debut studio album, Take to the Skies, was released in 2007 and reached number 4 in the Official UK Album Chart, and has since been certified gold in the UK. Their second, Common Dreads, was released in 2009 and debuted on the UK Albums Chart at number 16; while their third, A Flash Flood of Colour, was released in 2012 and debuted on the chart at number 4. Both have since been certified silver in the UK. The band spent a considerable amount of time supporting the latter release through the A Flash Flood of Colour World Tour, before beginning work on a fourth studio album, The Mindsweep, which was released in 2015. Their fifth studio album The Spark was released in 2017. Their sixth album Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible was released in April 2020. Their seventh and latest album, A Kiss for the Whole World, was released on 21 April 2023 which gave them their first-ever No. 1 album.
The Bamboozle was an annual three-day music festival which was held in New Jersey from 2003 to 2012, and was scheduled for a 2023 revival in Atlantic City by its founder. Every year, new bands competed for spots during the two days. The event evolved out of the Skate and Surf Festival. The 2012 event was the final one of its original run, as founder John D'Esposito subsequently left Bamboozle due to creative differences with organizing partners.

Initially known as "Troop 101", the band later changed their name to "Anarbor". In April 2008, the band was signed to Hopeless Records while still attending high school in Arizona. Your Demise was a British hardcore punk band from St Albans, England, formed in 2003. They shared stages and toured worldwide with the likes of Comeback Kid, Basement, Trapped Under Ice, Man Overboard, Enter Shikari, Parkway Drive, A Day to Remember and Bring Me the Horizon. On 22 September 2008, the band confirmed that they had signed a deal with Visible Noise. The band played their final gig at The London Underworld on 15 March 2014, after announcing in 2013 that they would be parting ways in March. They reunited for a one-off benefit show for The Ghost Inside in 2015. They reunited again for the anniversary of The Kids We Used to Be, but the shows were postponed due to the COVID-19 situation.

The band released three EPs, several singles—including "Stay the Night", which charted for a short time in the UK, and their debut album, Tonight, released in March 2013. This Century was an American pop rock band from Phoenix, Arizona, United States. The band consisted of members Joel Kanitz, Ryan Gose, Alex Silverman, and Sean Silverman. In February 2014, Alex Silverman announced his departure from the group. In May 2015, the band announced that following the release of their third album Soul Sucker, they would be playing farewell shows and retiring the band so members could "pursue each of our passions and musical projects". A Flash Flood of Colour World Tour was a concert tour by rock band Enter Shikari, which took place through 2012 and 2013, in support of the band's third studio album A Flash Flood of Colour, released on 16 January 2012. The tour supersedes the world tour that the band embarked on to support Common Dreads throughout 2009 and 2010. A Flash Flood of Colour was recorded in Bangkok, Thailand, between 8 May and 4 June 2011.
The Blackout are a Welsh post-hardcore band from Merthyr Tydfil, formed in 2003. In 2007, the band released their debut album, We Are the Dynamite. Their second record, The Best in Town, was released in 2009. The band's third album, Hope, was released in 2011 and charted at number 27 in the UK album chart. Their fourth studio album, Start the Party, was released in 2013. The Blackout's final release was a five-track EP entitled Wolves, with their farewell tour held in early 2015, finishing in their hometown of Merthyr Tydfil in March 2015.
