The first series of the Israeli version of The Singer in the Mask premiered on Channel 12 on 23 September 2020 and concluded on 5 December 2020. The series was won by actor and singer Tzachi Halevy as "Rooster" with singer and children's star Rinat Gabay finishing second as "Dragonfly" and judoka Or Sasson finishing third as "Falafel". [1]

The Masked Singer is an American reality singing competition television series that premiered on Fox on January 2, 2019. It is part of the Masked Singer franchise which originated from the South Korean version of the show King of Mask Singer which features celebrities singing songs while wearing head-to-toe costumes and face masks concealing their identities. Israel originally planned to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. The Israeli broadcaster Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation collaborated with the commercial broadcaster Keshet and Tedy Productions, which organisied the reality singing competition HaKokhav HaBa L'Eurovizion. The competition was won by Eden Alene, with a separate national final, HaShir HaBa L'Eurovizion, held to select her entry "Feker Libi". However, the contest was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The second series of the Israeli version of The Singer in the Mask premiered on Channel 12 on 16 October 2021 and concluded on 18 December 2021. The series was won by actor and singer Shai Gabso as "Gorilla" with actor Oz Zehavi finishing second as "Spaghetti" and singer and voice actress Rotem Shefy finishing third as "Oats".

The Masked Dancer is a German reality competition television series that premiered on ProSieben on 6 January 2022, based on the American television series of the same name. Like The Masked Singer's format, celebrity contestants wear head-to-toe costumes and face masks that conceal their identities. Matthias Opdenhövel hosts the show, with Alexander Klaws and Steven Gätjen serving as panelists.

The sixth season of the German singing competition The Masked Singer premiered on 19 March 2022 on ProSieben. Ruth Moschner and Rea Garvey returned to the panel. Matthias Opdenhövel also returned as host. Thore Schölermann hosted only the first episode after Opdenhövel tested positive for COVID-19.

The third series of the Israeli version of The Singer in the Mask premiered on Channel 12 on 17 December 2022 and concluded on 18 February 2023. The series was won by actress Yael Elkana as "Spider" with singer Adi Bity finishing second as "Fish" and singer Assaf Amdursky finishing third as "Snail".
