The third series of the Israeli version of The Singer in the Mask premiered on Channel 12 on 17 December 2022 and concluded on 18 February 2023. The series was won by actress Yael Elkana as "Spider" with singer Adi Bity finishing second as "Fish" and singer Assaf Amdursky finishing third as "Snail". [1]
The show is hosted by television presenter Ido Rosenblum, with the judging panel comprising of journalist Ofira Asayag, the comedian Shahar Hason, musical duo Static & Ben El Tavori, and director Tzedi Tzarfati. [2] [3] In Episodes 4-5 Niv Raskin (episode 4), Assi Azar and Rotem Sela (episode 5) replaced Rozenblum after he got Covid.
Throughout the third season, various guest judges appeared alongside the original, for one episode. In episodes 7-8 Assi Azar (episode 7) an Erez Tal (episode 8) replaced Static after he got Covid.

HaKokhav HaBa is an Israeli interactive reality singing competition, created by Keshet Media Group and broadcast on Channel 2 and on Channel 12. It is the basis of the Rising Star franchise. The show is a continuation of Kokhav Nolad which featured aspiring singers competing for a winning title. The program's format combines the internet, smartphone and television and is filmed live. Between 2015 and 2020, the show was used to select Israel's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest; it is being used again for 2024.
Israel participated in and won the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The Israeli broadcaster Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (IPBC/Kan) collaborated with the commercial broadcaster Keshet and Tedy Productions, which organised the reality singing competition HaKokhav HaBa L'Eurovizion to select the singer. The winner of the Israeli national selection was Netta Barzilai, and a committee of the Israeli broadcaster internally selected the song "Toy" for her.
Israel originally planned to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. The audience vote for their favorite singer after all perform. The least popular is eliminated, taking off their mask to reveal their identity.
