Spilomelinae is a very species-rich subfamily of the lepidopteran family Crambidae, the crambid snout moths. With 4,135 described species in 344 genera worldwide, it is the most speciose group among pyraloids.
The Tineodidae or false plume moths are a family of moths with in some cases unusually modified wings: Like in some related moths, the wings of several Tineodidae are decomposed into several rigid spines. This is a small family, with about a global total of 20 species described to date; some undescribed species are known or suspected to exist however. They seem to be of Australian origin, where they are most diverse, but range through the Wallacea to Southeast and South Asia, and into the Pacific to the Marquesas Islands.
Ichneutica is a genus of cutworm or dart moths in the family Noctuidae. The genus is found in New Zealand and surrounding islands. There are more than 80 described species in Ichneutica, the largest known genus of Lepidoptera in New Zealand. In 2019 this genus was revised and greatly expanded with the genera Graphania Hampson, 1905, Tmetolophota Hampson, 1905 and Dipaustica Meyrick, 1912 all subsumed within it.
Agdistis is a genus of moths in the family Pterophoridae described by Jacob Hübner in 1825. It is the only genus in the Agdistinae subfamily which was described by J. W. Tutt in 1906.
Ochyrotica is a genus of moths in the family Pterophoridae and only genus in the Ochyroticinae subfamily. Ochyrotica was described by Lord Walsingham in 1891 and the subfamily Ochyroticinae was described by Lutz Thilo Wasserthal in 1970.
Exelastis is a genus of moths in the family Pterophoridae.
Macropiratidae is a family of moths which has sometimes been treated as a subfamily of the Pterophoridae, owing to the resemblance between specimens of Macropiratidae and plume moths of the genus Agdistis, at least when preserved as pinned specimens. The family contains a single genus Agdistopis with three species.
Deuterocopus is a genus of moths in the family Pterophoridae. The genus was described by Philipp Christoph Zeller in 1852.
Hexadactilia is a genus of moths in the family Pterophoridae. The genus was described by Thomas Bainbrigge Fletcher in 1910.
Leptodeuterocopus is a genus of moths in the family Pterophoridae. It was erected in 1910 by Thomas Bainbrigge Fletcher, and has Leptodeuterocopus citrogaster as type species. Several of its species were originally described in genera Deuterocopus or Oxyptilus.
Arcoptilia is a genus of moths in the family Pterophoridae.
Fuscoptilia is a genus of moths in the family Pterophoridae.
Marasmarcha is a genus of moths in the family Pterophoridae erected by Edward Meyrick in 1886.
Tetraschalis is a genus of moths in the family Pterophoridae.
Walsinghamiella is a genus of moths in the family Pterophoridae.
Adaina is a genus of moths in the family Pterophoridae. The genus was erected in 1905 by J. W. Tutt. Several of its species have gall-inducing larvae, such as Adaina primulacea, of which the larvae induce stem galls on Chromolaena odorata, and Adaina microdactyla, which induces stem galls on Eupatorium cannabinum.
Crassuncus is an Afrotropical genus of moths in the family Pterophoridae.
Emmelina is a genus of moths in the family Pterophoridae with a nearly cosmopolitan distribution.
Triscaedecia is a genus of moths in the family Alucitidae, found in the Malay and Polynesian regions. Triscaedecia is distinguished from all other genera in the family by the hindwings being split into seven, instead of six, lobes. The lobes in both wings are only split to about two-thirds of the length of the wings. The genus was erected by George Hampson in 1905.
Pterophorinae is a subfamily of moths in the family Pterophoridae.
